Wednesday 27th July 2011 - What Small Things will you do today……?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym. :money:
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free!
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.!
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Morning all,
Thought I’d start us all off again today then I can start work
Today I have/will
• Will have a NSD (3rd in a row) – bought lunch and snacks with me so no need to buy anything
• Do any surveys in my mailbox – signed up for onepoll last night
• Look for MS jobs
• Meals from stores (unless my boss buys lunch)
• Checked my online banking – no change
• Mum’s posting off the shoes which I ebayed
• Check Quidco
• Use my inhaler and take medicine to help with breathing/reduce coughing!
• Charging phone at work
• Breakfast on the train to work
• Think positive today
• Read newspaper online
• Read the freebie paper on the train
• Need to check out the freebies and the competition boards
• Enter comps online
• Drink plenty of water
• Take meds and vits to control hormones
• Update food diary (online and paper copy)
• Check mobile useage
Will see what happens....
Take care everyone

Hi Candy, thanks for starting us. Been waiting for the thread as can't start easily on my iPhone!
Here is my list:-
- Checked banking
- Gave DM a wadge of cash to pay in for me so I don't spend it!
- Lunch/snacks/tea from stores
- HW off
- Make the most of rubbish diary
- Sell a purge
- Hang washing on airer later

Morning! I'm not able to function this early, but I had an early start for work today (left the house at 7.15, bleurgh) and discovered Ii can access MSE on phone with my unlimited internet! So today's plan is,
-bring own lunch, and brekkie for train. Brekkie, alas, was concoction of yoghurt, porridge oats, water, seeds and berries left to soak overnight. Result was tasteless mush, I think I should have added some cinnamon and sugar as only a few berries. Oh well. Must try and avoid trolley when it comes past!
-rest of day should be NSD, will have to get bus at other end and taxi back to station but I can claim those back from Expenses.
-walk to station, done!
-walk home from station
-no more grocery shopping til Saturday at earliest, dinner from stores and fridge.
-pack bag for going away tomorrow for friend's wedding
-early night tonight so I can get to work early tomorrow, and finish early to avoid traffic.
-try and sort out clothes mountain in bedroom that appears to be breeding!

Morning all!
Its the summer holidays for me (teacher) and finally I have time to sort a few things out and post here!
I desperately need to sort out a few financial things as I think OH and I are on the verge of separating and I need to make sure I'm financially viable by myself. Its been a long time coming and I'm actually quite calm about it surprisingly.
So today's list will be...- Phone water company to find out why they've doubled the DD Done
- Phone gas and electric company to dispute bill increase Done
- Phone bank to make appointment about mortgage
- Dye hair using £5 home kit rather than £50 hairdresser job Done
- Phone hairdresser to book trim in a week or two Done
- Keep trying to get a dog groomer to do the dog (desperate for a good chop in the warmer weather) Done
- Bedding in the machine now Done
- Towels to be washed Done
- Properly unpack bags from recent travels Done
- Stick to diet (don't want to put weight back on after finally getting to target) Done so far!
- Checked bank and need to work out a budget for the next 2 weeks until payday with what's left after bills are paid Doing next
- Go through mini pile of post and sort out anything that needs doing Done
- Write a food plan and shopping list for the weekend using Mr T £5 off voucher
- Walk dog and do the Shred DVD for exercise Done (not the Shred bit yet)
- Try for a NSD (OK so far)
ETA - also realised car needed taxing after opening post - thankfully its only a teeny one and costs £20 for the year, now done on line, phew!0 -
