Whilst I think its a viable option we do have to look at the competition that is already there, what could we offer that they don't and how can we do it better.

Here is a couple of links I have found
    http://www.motorhomefacts.com/ftoptitle-82625-motorhome-friendly-pubs-and-car-parks.html
    http://www.motorhomeparking.co.uk/
    http://www.motorhomestopover.co.uk

Link 1 - We can offer a site that actually works!

Link 2 - Some life and colour!!!

    Link 3 - Free membership!

We can make a charge (deduction) from the fee paid by the customer to the pub. Yes, it may take while but it will be bloody good!

I agree about the links, had similar thoughts myself.

I have another idea for a revenue stream that would come from the landlords themselves without breaking the bank!!
Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.

should my next post be whether we should form a ltd co. or partnership etc... I'm truly serious here despite the exclaimation!
Is pamp.com gone? If we all think its ok, I would go for pamp.org! but it needs to be a board decision... and we need to talk a few details between us before embarking
who the hell has pamp as a web domain anyhow!

truly off to bed to read now! Stop encouraging replies pit and steve!

Jexy, Drupal is a free ready-written framework for developing just this kind of thing. It isn't totally beginner-proof, but is hundreds of times simpler and cheaper than writing the equivalent functionality from scratch. In fact you could brobably rough the site out yourself using the (slightly simplified version) drupalgardens.com (online, free, set up your own site) - if nothing else it'll give you ideas.

Pamp will have gone in any useful forms, I think prettty much the whole 4-character, easy to pronounce namespace is long gone.

Drupal is like a cross between Wordpress & Joomla. I installed it last night on one of my vacant domains and tested it out but still prefer Wordpress.

Fascinating as this is, and probably incredibly useful too, this may have to go off the boards before it becomes advertising / touting for business, which I know was never jexy's intention, nor anyone else's!

In terms of complexity/pecking order/gaps in the market..

wordpress --> joomla --> drupal --> django (in increasing order of complexity/power)

    Wordpress is a basic blog
Joomla is a blog that evolved some CMS functionality
Drupal is a framework that you can create something joomla-like in, but also take it further and in different directions
Django is a meta-framework for developing workflow tools like Drupal (it was invented for news publishing companies)

BTW - there is no way I would want to do this job, absolutely no touting! I used to earn a decent living creating web apps (long before CMS systems existed I had to design one), so am only offering some useful/useless background for anyone interested ;-)
