Verified by Visa - broken as usual

Interestingly, and as an aside, I had an email from MBNA some weeks ago that they were abandoning their use of 3D-secure (the mastercard equivalent) for additional verification of internet payments.0

My Co-Op Electron card comes up with "VBV" on some websites. (Firefox browser)
The only problem I encountered in the past was that I didn't count the space as a character, thus getting in a bit of a muddle!!
It is little reassuring having "VBV" at times where I use my Electron instead of my o2 money.
Very soon I will be using my Visa Debit card as my Electron is expiring.0 -
had problems with FF and noScript combination sometimes -- so often I use Opera or ie when having to Verify . Otherwise, i disable temporarily NoScript .BLOODBATH IN THE EVENING THEN? OR PERHAPS THE AFTERNOON? OR THE MORNING? OH, FORGET THIS MALARKEY!

I've never had a problem with it. The only strange thing for me is that sometimes I have to verify and sometimes I don't and the amount charged isn't the reason. It's someone else's fault.0

Maybe it costs money to run it & would depend on the shop?0

I use a Visa Credit card online frequently. It works on some sites even with VbV but today with a SagePay merchant it keeps giving this error message after I have put in the letters from my password and clicked submit:
HTTP Status Code: 408
HTTP Status Message: The client failed to send a request in the time allowed
by the server.
Error Code : 5999
Error Description : The Session is invalid or has expired.

Have cleared cookies, spoken to merchant, spoken to card issuer (all OK), changed password and am now in an email discussion with SagePay.
Google reveals that similar error messages sometimes appear, and have been doing so for years. So it is a common enough problem, and I think to do with FF. But you would think they would sort it out by now. I paid over the phone, but that is not the point.0 -
Never had a problem but it seems pointless as all someone has to do (if they already have your details) is to change the password on the option. Give the basic info the social engineer will have already got and they are pass it.0

I have never had a problem with two separate visa cards (other than me forgetting the pass words). One of them allows you to skip and just put some basic personal info in.
I did have a problem on IE 18 months ago with a fictitious "verified by visa" screen popping up. It asked for your PIN. My PC kept freezing at that point and I couldn't get out of it without re booting. In the end Kapinsky resolved it and I switched to FF no problems since.
Interestingly the card issuer didn't want to know, wasn't interested."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....
