This is not correct. I don't have any knowledge about what will or will not show up on a CRB check, but Driving without due care and attention (or Careless Driving as it is also known) most certainly a criminal offence - unber Section 3 of the Rad Traffic Act 1988. It's not an imprisonable offence, but it is a criminal offence.0 -

Yeah, I saw that.. There seems to be a lot of other sites suggesting otherwise, though..
This is a nightmare! Crazy that we're unable to get a firm yea or nay on this, isn't it?0 -

I have other clearance too (higher than sc) but this was done seperately, though you could be right in that they done a tailored check0 -

Correct.
If you are prosecuted by the CPS or where the police bring the prosecution it will be a criminal offence.
Where a lot of people get confused is with the difference between a criminal offence and a recordable offence.
A lot of motoring offences are classed as criminal, but only a few are recordable offences.0 -
I had to apply for a basic disclosure only last week (£25 from here http://www.disclosurescotland.co.uk/ ).
Why not give them a phone call and see if they could give an answer.0 -

It is correct that it is a criminal offence but it is not recordable."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

It is correct that it is a criminal offence but it is not recordable.
So are recordable offences displayed on a Basic Disclosure / Subject Access Request?
If not, happy days. I'll cheerfully hand over my license and sling my hook back to my life in Asia.
If they do show then I might have some trouble obtaining a new visa in twelve months' time. Which would be a shame as the accident Iwas involved in was very much that; an accident.0
