buy partition magic or download gparted, or wipe the whole disk and reinstall the o/sEver get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

Hi kat
You need to run a program such as Partition Magic. It's on a CD and you can move or remove the partitions on a hard drive. It costs about £40.
There's also a free GParted. With this you must download it yourself and burn your own CD.
With both these programs you need to mug up on them first, otherwise you might wipe out all of Windows 2000.
As albertross says, if you have the Windows disk, you can erase everything including the partition and start from scratch.
This is the website for GParted, if you're up for it.
Here:-http://gparted.sourceforge.net/index.php

If he is prepared to spend £30 he could buy a Maxtor 80gb 7200 hard drive. He could slave it to his existing drive and use DiskWizard available from:
http://www.seagate.com/support/disc/drivers/discwiz.html to copy his existing drive contents to the new drive.
He would then change the jumpers on the 2 drives and boot from the new, faster drive. His old drive would be available as additional storage. The operating system and files would still be there on the old drive and could be swapped over at any time.
It is easier than it sounds and there are plenty of people on MSE to help if he has any questions.0 -
