Any way to tax car without reminder or log book?

Our stuff is in storage, and stupidly forgot to take out the log book and/or reminder!

I sat down to tax it with the reminder before everything went into storage and realised it needed an MOT, and now I've got the MOT I haven't got the bloody reminder grrrr.

It's going to be really difficult (and expensive) for us to access out stuff, am I just going to have to bite the bullet? :(

    Either that or apply for a replacement V5C - form V62, £25.

I can't do it online as I haven't got the log book or reminder and you need one or the other.

What is going to happen in between me ordering the new log book and the car being taxed? i.e. there will be a short period where the car isn't taxed.

You can apply for the replacement logbook and the tax disc at the same time:

If you’re shown as the registered keeper of the vehicle on DVLA records, you can tax in person or by post at your nearest DVLA local office.
You’ll need to complete a V62 ‘Application for a Vehicle Registration Certificate (V5C) which must be accompanied by £25 (fee for a duplicate Registration Certificate). Include this with a completed V10 ‘Vehicle licence application’, MOT, insurance and payment for vehicle tax.

So if I get a new log book, can I go to a DVLA office and get a tax disc issued immediately rather than waiting for it to be sent?

I think you should be able to do both things at the DVLA office in person, but I'm not sure. Why don't you just call the DVLA? They are quite helpful usually... you never know, if you explain that you DO have the logbook but cannot easily access it they might even give you the reference number you need to apply for the tax disc online.

You need to go to the local DVLA office with your Insurance and MOT, plus proof of new address if changing the address (utility bill etc). Then you can apply to both tax it and get new logbook at same time. You will need form V62 to get new logbook and form V10 for taxing (if this is still in existance) - downloadable or can get at office. plus your money.

    Yes.
I had to do this in September, I went there and done it there and then, I didn't have to pay the £25 as I still had the new keepers suppliment bit.
