Yes. Can you imagine Tesco trying to relieve of £70 if you bought a loaf of bread and then couldn't find the receipt in your pocket when you'd got back to the car?

Hi, how did you get on? I'm in the same boat same ticket was stuck on glass but then fell off during the day any advice?

Ignore it if it's a private ticket like the subject of this thread. And ignore the debt collector threatograms that follow (see our top thread 'PPC letters' for preview pics of the scary letter-chains).

If it's a Council Penalty Charge Notice then appeal it on the basis that it was a 'fluttering ticket' which is well-known to be an issue that adjudicators will often allow. Only send the Council a copy of the P&D ticket, keep the original.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Ignore them, with these ones the landowner is probably party to the trick!

tell me this, why are there so many posters on here who say 'oh the ticket must of fallen off, i didnt realise'? its easy to check, it will save stress and a potential court appearance, dont rely on the 'ignore, its an invoice not a fine' brigade.
if you failed to display, it doesnt matter if you bought the ticket, there are two aspects to the procedure, Pay and Display, and if they pursue, they CAN win,
Target Savings by end 2009: 20,000
current savings: 20,500 (target hit yippee!)
Debts: 8000 (student loan so doesnt count)

new target savings by Feb 2010: 30,000

But it never goes to court does it?. This is because they can only claim for the actual material loss that has been suffered. In this case it's a big fat zero.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

Have you actually read ANY of the threads on this board?
Can you point us to a case where a PPC has won in court against a victim who had "paid but not displayed"?
If not I suggest you shut up.

Utter drivel, they can not "fine" you for not displaying.
They can sue for losses or damages which is £0

A Council can issue a Penalty for not displaying in a Council car park and win but NOT a private company!

Only a court can fine, only an authority can penalise, anyone else can recover their loss.
  • Interesting views was really interested as to how the original poster had got on, where i was parked is actually owned by the harbour commissioner but contracted to mbc solutions. Maybe a well worded letter to them as the land owner and government agency would help?
