http://threestore.three.co.uk/ have a direct offer of a reconditioned SEK610ir on Direct Texter 1400 for £17.50 per month (18 month contract).
Direct Texter 1400 gives 300 mins, 1000 texts, 50 mins UK video mins and 50 video or picture messages + £5 worth of downloads.
"Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.
  • Mobile mole, yes it is a dealer offering cashback, yet the 3 network know hundreds of customers are losing hundreds of pounds on contracts they only took because of the cashback incentive. Surely a decent company would allow those affected to cut their losses and cancel their contract? Instead they're cashing in on it by introducing a downgrade fee! Again, I would not touch 3 with a bargepole.

It is not financially feasible for the network operators to allow every customer that has unsuccessfully claimed cashback from a dealer to cancel their contract.

In order to secure new customers the network operators pay dealers a commission for every new connection. I am not sure of the rates for 3, but for other networks typical commission is between £200 and £400 depending on tariff and contract length.

The network operator expects some return on the investment they have made. They can't be expected to absorb the losses that customers have made by choosing to buy from an unreliable dealer.

3 are a decent company and as I have already said they are probably the most proactive operator at banning dealers that don't meet certain standards.

    Cheers

  • Mobile Mole, you have highlighted only one piece of my point and completely ignored the rest, re

"Surely a decent company would allow those affected to cut their losses and cancel their contract? Instead they're cashing in on it by introducing a downgrade fee!"

And how nasty of you to say it's our fault for using an unreliable dealer!

"They can't be expected to absorb the losses that customers have made by choosing to buy from an unreliable dealer"

Has it not occured to you people were not alerted sooner because there was no indication this was a con? This is a very one sided view on your part, and very unrealistic. You really think I, or the hundreds of people affected will have anything to do with 3 once our contracts are up? 3 have received their comission back in a large number of cases, and more than their commision on others. Shame on you Mark.

The people who run three know their industry and the pitfulls of cashback. True it is not fair that they should take the loss of the commision and therefore it would have made more sense to have paid commision to the retailers over the period of the contract.
