Flashing blue lights: should I stop?

It is very interesting watching this thread unfold, the same old names pop up, bunching together to attack a viewpoint that is perhaps at odds with the one they hold.
The question is:
Describe the Moneysavingexpert.com motoring forum in exactly 30 words :rotfl:“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Really good analysis. How did I manage to end up on the lane which goes in the opposite direction if it was DC? I mentioned this little fact in the first post. Did I go through a central reservation? Explain please.
I don't think they let bigjl out on "big" roads anymore. Maybe shuffling cars around the carpark now.0 -
Does falling off the back step of the minibus at outpatients count?
Don't know, never taken a patient to outpatients?
I never did daywork. I joined when we were allowed to apply straight to A/E.
Is that the issue, you joined up doing daywork and failed the test to do Frontline.
Hmm, you should have stuck with the daywork mkey, then you would have had a nice GOLD PLATED NHS PENSION, jealousy is such a difficult emotion to deal with mikey:p
Your still boring me, but I was always told not to ignore those not blessed with any life skills, best to just humour them.
Now how was your day?:rotfl:0 -

Come on strider, this is the best entertainment I have had in ages.0 -
If you have two lanes going in each direction, in the single carraigeway format that you are inferring the OP was talking about then there would be nothing to stop the Police car from simply crossing onto the empty opposite side of the road, the OP said the road was empty or at least inferred this.
As the Police car was unable to do so this is one reason that anybody with any brains would consider this a good piece of evidence to suggets strongly we are talking about a DC.
The other clue, which I have already mentioned, is that these two lanes the OP talks about then turn into three lanes as there is a right turn lane, now if we were talking about a normal road that just happened to have two lanes of traffic with no solid divider or central reservation then there wouldn't be enough road space available to have this right hand turn lane unless we are actually talking about a DC.
Not interested in getting involved in the speculation about your job, but I have to take issue with this bit. Several examples have been posted of roads that are exactly as the OP describes, two lane single carriageways that widen to three lanes for the crossroads, all without any form of island or central reservation in place. There has even been an example posted of a single lane single carriageway that widens to 3 lanes for a junction!
If I understand correctly from your various posts on this forum, you work in the London area so I can understand why you would think this arrangement is impossible, but in the more rural parts of the country* this sort of thing does happen.
The OP also stated that they drove onto the wrong side of the road to let the police car past which, again, strongly suggests that this was not a DC.
6am: PLEASE post a Google maps link to where the junction is. No internet detective is going to come around your house based on such a post and it will put an end to a lot of the crap on this thread.
*LOL I never thought I'd ever be found describing Preston as rural.0 -
That is not true. Anyway it is your opinion. I am not going to change it. Anybody could read the thread and form their own opinion. I am not really bothered by yours at this moment.Look 6am, you have changed the situation that you are winging about nearly every time you have posted.
I accepted that. Thank you for reminding. You were in the wrong.0 -
I will again refer you back to the OP's original post.
Now, reread it and takes some notes if you like, better still draw a diagram, you can do that can't you?
Maybe not as there isn't a keyboard involved.
Never mind, just ask an adult they will help you.
Now after you have reread the original post and you will see that by the minimal information given by the OP it does seem obvious to me that the only kind of road that would fit into the facts stated would be indeed be a dual carraigeway.
But since I am used to explaining things in a way that a numpty can easily understand I shall do so for you.

It takes very little time for those of a slighty, erm , lower down the intelligence scale top resort to personal attacks.
When you gets groups of people that really aren't that sharp you will see they will crowd together, this happens not only in real life but also in cyberspace.
Seriously this forum is hilarious.
If you are wrong them why not just start throwing insults.
If somebody insults me then I have no issues with throwing insults back, perhaps this is me showing some frustration that people who don't know what they are talking about will put their opinion over so aggressively that it may actually be believed.
I do feel sorry for mikey72 and Woody in particular.
You two really haven't amounted to anything have you.
I wonder if you were some of the fools that used to get laughed at on the BWTS forum years ago when we used to play "out the walt".
Better get yourself back on Ambulance999, isn't that were you will find people you are on the same level as, eh Woody.
As far as Mikey72, to be honest, you are a waste of bandwidth you really are.
Whenever there is a topic you know nothing of has never stopped you from trying to put forward an opinion has it.
Maybe we will get another one of your "threats", oooooooooo, go on chase me!!!:p
OMG
I did read the first post where the Op crossed into the lane going oin the opposite direction.
How did the OP do this if there was a divider.
You are unbelievable and wrong about it being a dual carriageway, but I guess you still wont admit it.
I await the next post of insults, you do seem to be good at those, i dont thin I have personally insulted you but hey ho0 -

You are so full of it that you should have a sign saying Flush and a cistern on top of you.
Just take it as read that you are a very inexperienced driver and admit you were wrong.
Honestly what with Woody and mikey this forum is like looking after a classroom of 5 yr olds.0 -
Crikey... how many times has he admitted he was wrong on this thread already, including just 5 minutes ago in post #1070

You are unbelievable
Well, f**k me.
I must admit I didn't read it like that, I thought they had meant the right hand turn lane. With the bit they crossed onto possibly being the solid white line with hatch markings in it.
Though why has nobody else pointed that out before? As it does make sense.
Though reading the first post again, with the OP's description I still assume from the description given it is a DC with two lanes going into three with one for going right.
Perhaps if the thread hadn't been reduced into an argument about semantics early on I would have re read the first post.
Though come on OP, give us the road names so we can see this road for ourselves on GoogleMap.
I for one would like to see where the extra space for the right turn lane was created.
Unlike mikey and Woody I am happy to put my hands up when it looks like I have misread something.
It is the mark of a man.
Those two should take note of this for when you grow up.0
