Vodafone contract coming to an end
I am currently on an 18 month contract that ends at the end of the month. I have a Blackberry Bold 9700 which I have paid £36 a month for 600mins and unlimited texts and 500mb data. I am now starting maternity leave and my wages will going down quite a bit so need to cut back a bit. I am unsure whether to go Sim only for 12 months at £15.50 a month or I have seen a deal through cashback site Quidco. They are offering £250 cashback on any HTC Desire S phone on any 24 month contract. Therefore I could get that phone for £26 a month for 2 yrs and get the cashback and sell my Blackberry on ebay for roughly £100. There are anough mins and texts on the £26 a month deal. So basically Im unsure which is the best deal sim only or the HTC Desire S with cashback?

You have to remember that the cashback might not pay out/get declined or take many months before it becomes payable so only get the phone if you can afford it if the cashback didnt pay up!
There are some excellent SIM only deals - If you are not bothered about staying with Vodafone then T-Mobile offer some discounted SIM only deals via ChitterChatter - http://www.chitterchatter.co.uk/simonly.php - They currently have 600 minutes, 500 texts and 500MB for £10 a month.:dance:Quidco Payments In 2011 - £724.21
June: £43.15/July: £51.22/August: £90.60/September: £29.75/October: £284.07/November: £171.08/December: £29.220 -
Thanks for the reply. Yes I would be gutted if the cashback declined but I could still afford the phone. It would still be a £10 saving on my current contract. Thanks for the link to the sim only deals. I had a look but seems it's an extra £5 for the Blackberry services so would be £15 a month. Vodafone do a sim only deal for blackberrys for £15.50 a month so would probably stay with them if doing sim only. The other thing I was worried about is taking out a 12 month sim only deal and my Blackberry breaking then I would have to buy a new phone. Its difficult to know what to do for the best.0

I recently renewed my Vodafone sim-only after a 12 month contract. My original call was to get my PAC from Voda so that I could go on the Tesco deal at the time.
Voda retentions came back and I am getting a much better deal than any on their normal web site. All for £10 per month.
I would do the same again next time. You might like to try this route.0 -
Thanks. I could find another deal I'm interested in with another network and see if vodafone will beat it. I would like to stay with vodafone if possible because I get great coverage where I live. Does anyone know if I took the Htc deal via quidco with vodafone would I be able to swap my number to the htc when my contract ends in a week or so?0

Not if you stay with the same network but a new contract. You would need to go the upgrade path, if available.0

You could get a payg sim from another network, transfer your number to it, then get the deal off TopCashBack and transfer the number back to vodafail.0

But yes porting your number to a PAYG SIM and then coming back to Vodafone as a "New" customer would enable you to get the cashback and sounds like a good planCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

If you are happy with the said Network, then you can stay. Try to look for better offer because for sure there will be new offers for you. All you need to do is to ask and consider all features presented by your old network and compare it with other existing network. Compare the features and price. In that way, you would know what is best for you.0
