Positive feedback for lousy sellers

Why can't you leave a neg? The seller sent the wrong colour item, as you mentioned a logo presumably you wanted the logo on it as well.
If a business seller can't get that right they should at least cover the return postage to you & if they don't that is what the red blob is for, to let others know that in your case they let you down.
If you don't then feedback is a complete waste of time.
i know you are right, but although i don't think i am in the wrong (and i have checked the advert since) i can't be 100% sure so i wimp out.
I think the problem is, is that whilst i mostly buy, i do sell sometimes and always do my best and i have had 1 neg in 6 years but felt really upset by it.so hate doing it to others, plus i never know what to write on the neg feedback.0 -

The facts, nobody can argue with the facts.
If you don't want to neg than a neutral doesn't harm the seller but will warn other potential buyers.
You are now going to be out of pocket as the seller sent the wrong item & it wasn't as described.
I would say,
Wrong shade sent, no logo. I had to pay for return.
If I had messed up a listing I wouldn't be expecting the buyer the buyer to pay for my error.
I mostly sell at the moment.0 -
Just to update you (sorry to hijack original thread) i ended up leaving a neutral feedback, didn't mention the colour just the fact there was no logo and wasn't told about it until after item had been posted, yesterday the seller emailed me asking me to ring them re the feedback between 9 and 5pm, i replied saying i work and if there was a problem to email me, today i have an email from ebay saying the seller has requested my contact information and this has been passed to them without my prior consent.
i would say they are probably not happy with a neutral, i have also looked back at other feedback and notice when a neutral or negative feedback has been left for them they have tended to reply with a very sarcastic quip!!0 -

A neutral doesn't really mean anything to be honest, if they leave a sarcastic comment, then I believe that you can comment on it if you wish.
As long as you only stated the facts then there's really nothing that they can do about it.
If they call you I would tell them that you didn't leave the FB lightly but as you were sent something different to what you bought you felt that is the correct FB.
I would also let her know that you wish all correspondence to be via ebay, if sh'e unpleasant hang up.0 -
i wasn't aware ebay could just give your contact details out without your prior consent. I have been on to ebay this afternoon and they advised me to ring the police!!!!!!!!!!!!!. they have said the seller says i left negative feedback (which i didn't) and is probably hoping i will revise my feedback.
This is so bad on so many levels, as i said to the ebay guy, it's my decision to leave feedback and no buyer should be harassed by a seller as a result.0 -
What on earth do they think the the police will do? I think at the moment they are a little busy, to be concerned about a phone call you may get.
Sorry if that sounds harsh but what can someone do with a phone number, she's already got your address.
Make it plain to her that you will not discuss FB with her & hang up, or just put the phone on the table, so she can't disconnect & go away & do something else.0 -
Thats what it says in their rules, contact bt for nuisance phonecalls then the police and get the investigating officer to contact them!!!!!!!!!!1, laughable really since it's their fault for giving the details out in the first place.
I shall just ignore it, don't think i will be contacting the Police, i think they are a bit busy at the moment!0 -

It's no doubt in the t&c's somewhere that they can & do give out phone numbers.
A lot of people have their phone numbers come up on the ebay, address to send to bit.
It could be that yours is on there as well.0 -
All buyers and sellers can request the contact details of people they have bids from or have items they have bid on, you cannot opt out at all. I have had a few phone calls from buyers before now and have also made a few calls myself.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. No wonder I get such good bargains!
I tend to buy from much smaller sellers (usually less than 50 FB), and one had received 3 negs from the same person who had bought 3 x 99p items, complaining about slow delivery, when auction clearly stated 7 to 9 days!
So long as the seller has responded calmly to the neg, then I couldn't care less. If they've used capital letters or ranted, then I'd avoid them!
Mmmm, I might also look at the negging buyer too, to see if they're fond of leaving negs.
Lower % doesn't scare me, and negs don't scare me, unless there's mega numbers of them, but I'll mebbe look at what they were selling to be negged on, if it's what I'm after, I'd avoid.
I rarely neg or neutral, and always give positive if I need a refund or if there's a delay and I'm kept in the loop ~ communication is king really.I ave a dodgy H, so sometimes I will sound dead common, on occasion dead stupid and rarely, pig ignorant. Sometimes I may be these things, but I will always blame it on my dodgy H.
Sorry, I'm a bit of a grumble weed today, no offence intended ... well it might be, but I'll be sorry.0
