d) Inform the Uncle that unless you get the money back in full you will be informing the US authorities these passengers are intending to stay in the USA illegally or are travelling to commit a crime.

Not funny. The uncle has done nothing wrong, and should not face the threat of having his holiday ruined, nor should should he be the one to lose money.0 -
I'm not on bad terms with the Uncle or the ex-Girlfriend, But I just feel helpless since I cant even attempt to do anything about it since I've been left out of the loop.
The taxes work out to be £260 which should be fully refundable shouldn't it? as they cant claim they are paying tax on a product which isn't being used?0 -
The taxes will be subject to an admin fees. With the no frills carriers this can wipe out any refund, but you would need to check what Virgin would charge in admin.0

And how much do you think the administration charges will be let me have a guess . Taxes wont be fully refundable and anything will be refunded to the unk. Would you consider going ans staying elsewhere if your still on ok terms .??I'm not on bad terms with the Uncle or the ex-Girlfriend, But I just feel helpless since I cant even attempt to do anything about it since I've been left out of the loop.

You dont have to sit with them on the flight, or even speak to them. If you check in separately you wont be seated together. Just turn up at the airport and check in, you've paid for a flight why not use it. Then when you get there just hire yourself a car and drive in whatever direction takes your fancy.:A:A:A:A:A:A0

Unfortunately you have not been 'left out of the loop', travel bookings require a 'lead passenger' and they have sole control over the booking. But I just feel helpless since I cant even attempt to do anything about it since I've been left out of the loop.
Think about it the other way round, you made the booking, they paid you, you fell out with all of them and then went on your own. They would be out of pocket nearly £2100.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.
