Happy New Year too! :beer:
All this money saving is towards a trip to NZ I'm planning for 2008 so was nice to see money savers are worldwide. :jWandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0 -

I'd like to join too. I feel overwhelmed quite a lot. I'm stopping work at the end of January so that should be a help - I normally work small shifts and in between school runs and work I can be in and out that front door about 10 times a day.
I've got Julie Morgenstern's book 'Organizing From The Inside Out'. It's supposed to be really good. I'm a bit of a procrastinator though and despite having bought the book a couple of months ago I still haven't got passed the first chapter.
I also never run out of cleaning stuff. Probably because I don't use it as much as I should. I never just have one of anything either - just incase I run out and there's a shortage of Stardrops or something. I can't seem to just have one bottle of something - I must have at least 3.0 -
loumac - you're coming to NZ?? How exciting!
Today Flylady says I'm dealing with the Entrance, Front Porch and Dining Room.
Those should be fairly straightforward.
Sweep front porch;
Sweep, dust, wash floors and tidy entrance;
Pick up, dust and tidy dining room.
Will also:
Laundry x 2 - hope weather picks up;
Pick up through the whole of the house;
Vacuum;
Wash all floors;
Put solar lights out in garden down driveway;
Cook roast leg of lamb with all the trimmings for dinner!!If there is to be any peace, it will come through being, not having - Henry MillerM.A.C.A.W Member . . Wannabe Flybaby0 -
Don't worry if you cannot follow this plan exactly, just do what you can where you can but the closer you can follow it the more you will accomplish and be closer to being organised and stress free.
SHINE THAT SINK - I am going back to basics for the first task of the year.
27 fling boogie (for all just joining that means grab a rubbish bag and run around until you have found 27 items that need to go in the bin.)
Remove christmas decs and store away carefully for next year. Put all christmas cards safely to one side.
Tidy, dust and hoover main living area (I've put it this way for those who don't have a separate living room.
Spend 30 mins filing paperwork. 30 MINUTES ONLY! I don't want anyone getting bogged down in paperwork and forgetting everything else. Remember babysteps.
Go through christmas cards making lists of who sent them. If new contact details or phone numbers are included on these cards then transfer details immediately to address book.
Hit one hotspot!
That's it for the day. Nothing that isn't achieveable and remember it will get easier and lighter as the days go on and you will find yourself only having to keep on top of things instead of digging yourself out from under!Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Denise - thanks! Scary and exciting. I would like to have come this year but I discovered this site too late and have only recently started proper money saving. I'll have to pick your brain on the places to visit!
Moggins - WOOHOO! I've done most of those things today. How lovely to feel I have a head start on this, it might keep me motivated! Just need to do the fling which will be fun with a hangover. :beer:Wandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0 -
moggins wrote:The thing about shoes is so you can't put anything off, like "I can't put the rubbish out as I don't have my shoes on, I'll do it later"
I'm ready to go - except I've already chucked the cards and done the decs
