Loved your story Jojo, hope the cat was okay.

He was fine, lived another 10 years or so, I think.

Good plan on swapping the baskets!

Thanks for all your posts and messages of support.

Beaumont (nicknamed Flo) is now back home, miserable and hugely p'd off with me! She's had three teeth removed at a cost of £350  and is tanked up with antibiotics and painkillers. But that didn't stop her trying to escape from her carrier in the vet's reception area. Luckily I know what she's like and in the 12 years I've owned her have built up lightning quick reactions. So as soon as she had jumped out, I had her by the scruff and pinned to the bench seat then swiftly back in the carrier. I think the receptionist had palpitations as she made her leap, but she was back in before they had time to blink!

She's also supposed to have a 'bland' diet of chicken or fish, but fussy doesn't begin to describe Flo's attitude to food. She would rather starve than eat something that's not her 'normal' wet food or crunchies. I've had 2 hours of her staring in disgust at her plate of chicken then looking at my disdainfully 'well, don't expect me to eat THAT!'

Okay, I know I'm a softy. I've relented and mixed in some of her wet food with the chicken, not her usual portion, but enough so she's at least eaten something tonight. Hopefully it'll help me get back into her good books again … ;)
:wave:A highly active brain needs feeding often :D
