Hi
I hope someone can help me, I am about to apply for housing benefit but i have noticed on the form they require 2 months bank statements, I have these but my wages have only been going into my account for the last month. I had a few financial problems a while back and stated having my wages put into my mums account. Will they want her bank statements because i dont think she will be keen to give them. Please help me I am worried sick that i wont be able to claim and therefore wont be able to pay my rent. I have 3 children and need a home for them
Thanks x

The bank statements isnt just to show your wages going in its also to show you dont have any other payments going in that you havnt declared0

KARENX - I know but all ive had going into this account for the last 6 months is my child benefit, i pay all my bills with cash and
my tax credits go into my post office account!!!0 -
I can't really understand why your mother would object to showing a couple of her bank statements - have you actually asked her?0

She wont want to give her bank statements, she is very private. I'm sure she would write a letter though.0

Haha, yeah i'm sure that works when you are a child and need to get out of PE lessons, but not as an adult.
If your mum wants you to have a roof over your head, she will have to.Per Mare Per Terram0 -
Have you given in two months of bank statements? I think you might be asked to show two months of bank statements from any/every account you have.
I'm not sure you have to show your Mum's bank statements, maybe you've been asked because you said your wages went there, but I can't see how that can be enforced if your Mum doesn't want to share her them. Have you tried offering your wage slips?0 -
No i havent put in the claim yet, but i was just concerned that they would pick up on the fact my wages arent on the 1st statement0

Im happy to sent in wage slips0

As it isn't your account and you have wage slips for cross checking, I imagine your mum could black out all but your wage credits...?0
