Yes he will. We recently drove a 400 mile trip to the North Wales coast to pick up our son after some trouble at a festival. We drove all night (well Kids Dad did) and the relief was palpable on his face when we saw him waiting at the side of the road.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

I will definitely pick him up if things are even a little bit dodgy, even if I have to go all the way to Somerset in my noisy dust/rust mobile :D

I feel much better now; I had a bit of foot-stamping then a bit of a cry then I pulled myself together and went out for a bit. I smiled at people, let other drivers out in front of me and let a lady in front of me at the shop as she was in a hurry and didn't have much to buy. Either I have made other people happy or they will turn and run if they see me again :rotfl:

Bonnie - the workmen who were here today told me the young lads who work with them said that attempts are being made to organise trouble in reading tonight, so talk to DS about what might be a sensible option.

Thanks for the info. The next stop is Swindon. Looks like that's where I'm going on Sunday then!

Thinking of everyone near the rioting areas - what a dreadful day for the UK. Makes any problems I may have pale into insignificance - I'm relatively safe here on my scottish hillside and very thankful for that.

Wow! this thread has sprung up quickly. :T

Very busy with the allotment - its a full time job harvesting, blanching and freezing/preserving all the stuff we have grown and doing battle with the weeds.

Hoping to go brambling this weekend to get enough to make some port wine with elderberries but the flies are out in their 1000's which make it really unpleasant.

It's going to be an expensive month - the exhaust fell off my car last night - the garage have got it in and have politely mentioned that three of the four tyres are on the verge of needing replacing.

Frightening times in the big cities - praying that everyones family and friends stay safe at this difficult time

The blackberries around here are still mostly unripe. I've noticed over the years that we're a bit behind England with them ripening. It's usually about the end of August here.

Having said that, there are areas that they seem to ripen sooner than others, such as the ones overlooking the Co-op car park which are at least 2 weeks ahead of the ones by us. I'm guessing it's the warmth reflecting off the building and tarmac that's helping those ones along.
That says that its your son is the issue and needs dealing with alongside the actual mould:D is there a way of locking his window in a permanently slightly ajar mode, ours have a small gap that can be opened then locked to allow ventilation although we also have vents at the top which we leave permanently open. Otherwise you are just going to have to open his windows yourself daily and prop his door open for an hour or so to allow the air to circulate. Good luck with that one. :D
Quote Greenbee Maybe you should apply the damp rid to your DS, not to the room? Or get a dehumidifier?

Thank you both, you gave me a good giggle. I'm sure once he's in Uni the problem will disappear :D. I do keep opening his window and door but the blighter keeps closing them again! I'm hoping that having evicted him and making him help sort the problem he will be more willing to VENTILATE (are you listening son) the room.

SDG31000 What a picture you paint of your faraging gear, love it. Hope the pain in your toe has subsided.

I wouldnt know - as, in my area, I've found that everything forageable is vanishing at a rate of knots (even stuff that last year I noticed was just "going to waste" because I had only taken my fair share of it - and was then left thinking "I could have had some more actually - as its just gone to waste"). Its proving very upsetting hereabouts in my locality to see all this evidence of selfishness of going on - ie people "grabbing the lot and blow anyone else that comes later".

Anyways.....I've made contact with the peeps planting out food in public space near me and all is well - ie it isnt just one or two individual households trying to plant up something for themselves personally only and landgrab:D. It is US - ie the Transition Town movement and for community type purposes:D:T:D and I've been invited to join in if I wish:D.

I'm happy now that its a community thing - ie rather than a personal land grab thing - so am considering my position as to whether to join in or no. But my mind is at rest that it isnt someone doing a personal "grab for it bid" :D
