I'm here. hens and us drying out in a nice sunny windy day. The RV has decided he wants to learn how to use a computer and things are somewhat fraught. He's a ratty pain in the a$$, and god did not intend me to be a teacher....

Thanks for the Banana books link.... a few more crimble pressies sorted!!

I've not mamanged much today other than take the kids to a birthday party at a playzone type place where I drank tea, crocheted and nattered away to my hearts content....

I hope things in London are a bit quieter tonight.....

I have had to cut back all the haulms on the maincrop pots as the dreaded blight has struck, so I shall be digging those tomorrow. I don't have any hessian or paper bags to store them in so I thought I would put them inside pillow cases and then inside cardboard boxes in the shed. What to you veg gurus think??

This will come as a shock to my fellow Scottish posters on here but Tesco have been found guilty of charging 5% less in Scotland than England

    http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/retailandconsumer/8687519/Tesco-caught-operating-two-tiered-pricing.html

of course they will now have an excuse for immediately increasing things by 5% to make up for it. Gee, how I loathe them with a passion:mad::mad::mad: I can cope with Asda but a visit to Tesco has me behaving like an extra from the Exorcist.

Off to read back the way in the posts - will be back with some editing and observations later:)

I feel for you, been there, done it and muttered many curses along the way at hubby. In fact that was what prompted me to buy a laptop. I try to keep him in the same room as me so that when he comes unstuck with the pc I don't have to go running off to the study to fix the problem.:)

Evening all - and hello to toots :D

We've been having a mass sort out here, too. DS1's room has been gone through from top to bottom, literally looking at each toy/ piece of paper etc to see if it's wanted. As a result there has been a massive increase in our recycling & rubbish the past 2 weeks, there's a pile of things for Operation Xmas child (So much unwanted & unused stationery!), a pile of stuff to sell and a smaller pile for the loft for DS2. A few things have also gone straight to DS2's room. DD has sorted all of her room the same way, too - and I will be doing teh same to DS2's room (argh!) and DS3's room (ok - just one box of stuff to sort, really) DH has been tidying his papers in the office and has shredded and recycled lots too. It feels lighter, even though there's still more to do - nice to achieve what we have already, though! :D I went through our CDs and DVDs yesterday and there's a pile of about 20 in a charity bag for collection tomorrow (we rarely get a non-clothes bag, so that was fantastic!) I also have 2 bin liners of clothes to sell and 2 boxes of books and a bag of blankets for the local dog rescue centre.

Just had a text from my oldest DS. Rioting is breaking out everywhere in London. He's in the West End fearing the worst. His firm got a beating in the last riots earlier in the year. Prestige firm, got away with window damage and graffiti last time. Rioting has broken out in the town where I used to live, and where my grandchildren still live. As my son put it 'All Hell is breaking loose". He says everywhere has been hit, Barking, Ilford, Clapham, Tooting, Colliers Wood, Croydon.
