  • Hi all

Have not been on for a while as life is a bit full on at the moment and I am finding it a bit tricky balancing two jobs and trying to find some relaxation time to try to improve my health.

Happy belated birthday kidkat, glad you enjoyed yourself.

(((hugs))) to all who need them and that seems to be quite a few judging by my quick skim through the posts.

Shopping bill is still reduced whilst we are eating all of the produce from the garden and the lottie :T. Toms in the hanging baskets are producing loads of sweet red and yellow toms. I have lots of tom sandwiches at work at the moment and we are also having lots of home made soup.

If anyone had got their candle lit tonight please send positive vibes to two of my friends and my mum.

My closest friend (and the one who has helped me through all of my ups and downs this last few years) is on the verge of a breakdown. It had been comming on over the weeks/months and she is finding work and life in general very hard. I know how please she was when she eventually came off the anti depressants a couple of years ago but think she is very close to needing to be back on them again.

Another close friend who has been fighting cancer for the last four years has been told today that she has weeks rather than months left and there is no more treatment they can give her. Even though we knew this was going to be the case it is still very difficult to come to terms with.

Mum is still not recovered from the car accident a few weeks ago and the constant chest pain has now been diagnosed as a heart rhythm abnormality and the bruising to her leg has developed into cellulitis, she refused to go into hospital but has agreed to go back to the doctor again next week.

I have got my 7 day heart monitor on this week and have the 24hr blod pressure monitor put on tomorrow. I would not be surprised if these throw up some interesting readings at the moment :o.

It has been a beautiful day here today with the blue sky and beautiful sunshine, there is so much in life to be grateful for, we just need a gentle reminder of this at times.

    Thanks for listening (reading)

    Mrs VP
I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order :D.

Excuse me please whilst I go and stick my head in the gas oven.

No Point - it doesn't kill you any more :rotfl:

There has always been a divide between the haves and the have nots, but in recent years it has seemed to close somewhat - unfortunately some of it because people lived beyond their means. On the other hand there are some who are, as you say, decent and hardworking who don't get the breaks - or the higher salaries. Nurses are the ones who usually spring to mind, i have many friends and relatives who are nurses and the pay stinks,it really does. Yet, in the main, they are hardworking, dedicated and well qualified. Some of the top notch salaries where my OH works would make your eyes pop. No-one is worth so much, surely. Six figures plus. That would equal a lot of nurses.

Thanks smileyt for the warning - oh bu**er we are in a 3 bed but theres only 2 of us - Oh has to have his own room but that means theres still one spare. At least I can be prepared and save a few quid now in case.

OH popped into Mr T last night for some milk and came home with some whoopsies - well trained now! Really good sausages 12 for £1 and they turned out to be bogoff's, same with baking apples 21p a bag and bogoff - made my day.

Dgs has just gone home and was so pleased to see his Mummy and Daddy, he was very tired so I imagine they are both cuddled up on the couch while daddy cooks tea. Its very quiet here but oh my goodness am I tired - I feel like I have been run over by a herd of elephants instead of an 18 month old little man - long soak in the bath after my whoopsied Indian meal from Mr A (£3 - bargain)

Big hugs to you and yours Mrs VP, it sounds like you are having a tough time of it. My candle has just been lit, so positive, caring thoughts coming your way. Take care.

:rotfl:I can imagine it now. Thanks for the tip about the soap, that`s the one I use. Must get to the shops and stock up.
Also remember the longer you keep soap the harder it gets. That also means it lasts longer. That was a tip I picked up from my Mom years ago.

You are ment to unwrap it and it'll harden up and last longer, aparently!

    Weeze x

Oh poo! :rotfl:Anyway I wouldn't give the barstewards the satisfaction, really. I want to live until I get old, grow old most disgracefully and then make a real pain in the bum of myself to senior politicians. Accompanied by a pink or/and purple sparkly beehive wig on my shaved head, a large frilly umbrella and frog or bee wellies. :rotfl::rotfl:I shall poke the prime minister with my umbrella and say, "You should be ashamed of yourself, young man/woman, how can you sleep at night?" and then get arrested by the police, whereupon I shall demand to be unhanded at once and be given a fluffy pillow to sit on.

MrsVegPlot I am sorry to hear about your friends. I hope you are looking after yourself as best you can as your health also matters.

I AM going to have a purple rinse before I shuffle off this mortal coil. On screaming white hair that is half an inch long too. All this OS is so sensible, I feel I must have an antidote.

YES, VJsmum, exactly like that! I already do wear purple so I am starting to practise now. Bluebag you get that purple rinse, gal. I shall join you with a shocking lime green and purple stripy curly wig and we shall paint the [STRIKE]town[/STRIKE] politicians with rotten eggs!

ETA I think I should calm down and go to bed .... it's been a long day and I am getting giddy-tired and will end up posting something I regret lol!

  • What is it with big company's, hubby put in his expenses claim on 8th August & he's still waiting for them to be paid, it's £120 for cleaning/maintenance items that he need to clean/maintain the site he is caretaker for! How is he meant to do his job without the stuff he needs, he is now refusing to purchse anything else until he gets paid, it's a joke, it really is.

I've heard from other people who've had to deal with small and big companies that the big comapnies are the worst ones for paying up.
