We love christmas - its a time we try and get together as a family. We don't spend money on pressies but make home-made gifts, cards, crackers etc and have a very traditional day of games, reading, dvds etc. Its a lovely relaxing time I look forward to

Team Edward and Eric here. I love vampire and fantasy stories.
Jedi my birthday is in December 20th and one of my sisters is Jan 7th. When we were children my mum hired the local village hall and we had a joint party mid Jan. Mum did all of the catering and the whole school was invited (very very small country school). We played pass the parcel, musical statues/bumps and had a great time. Everyone took home slice of birthday cake and a balloon. I have given both my girls parties at home with games and they have loved them. I would never dream of asking people to pay their own way for a child’s party. I remember a colleague hiring a limo for her daughters and friends one birthday the girl was 11!
Not much OS has happened her today as I have worked 8-6. Trying to muster up the energy to cook tea but failing miserably.
I am playing all of the right notes just not necessarily in the right order.

Had to laugh at all these fans of vampire stories - as I felt a bit "guilty" about the odd science fiction book finding its way into my house (protestant work ethic rules okay chez ceridwen....:o:eek::o) - but it seems I'm in good company:rotfl:
Mrs V.P. - dont worry about the lack of "energy" to cook tea - you've got a lot on your plate from what you've said in recent posts and sometimes there just ISNT enough "energy" for the Basic Cooking/Cleaning/etc stuff AND Life AND dealing with problems/hassles/etc and one sits there eating chocolate/drinking a glass too many of wine and maybe "simmering" a bit about the darn thing/person that has leached off a bit of that Energy that one needed to just get on with Life and "do one's best" - but sh*t happens and its human to sometimes get deflected from the goal because of "all that stuff"...:(
Perhaps we need a phrase along the lines of "I meant to do something IMPORTANT - but life/hassles/other people deflected me from the goal". Just take it one has to be strong-willed indeed to never get deflected by all that stuff...darn it...
I think we're all entitled to a few hours/days/delete as applicable of being "thrown off course" - as long as we do the best we can to "get back on course" when we can...0 -

I just started some ethiopian honey wine (wild book ) and mixed 750 ml honey with 3 litres of water and it is standing in a bucket with a t towel on top. I am expecting some reaction to start happening in a few days and at that point I will put the lid on with a bubbler that goes through a grommet. Then I`ll leave it a few weeks and voila I get wine. I have to stir it several times until it starts showing signs of fermenting as it should capture wild yeasts from the air. If it works then this should be a lovely drink as the weather gets cooler and also for colds and chills.
Hi Kittie
I'm an occasional lurker on this thread (it moves too bloomin fast for me!) but had to delurk to ask about the honey wine, it sounds delicious! Is that the whole recipe, 3ltrs water and 750ml honey? And after the few days in the bucket with the teatowel over it, what does "I will put the lid on with a bubbler that goes through a grommet" mean?Sorry for all the questions, have never done homebrewing myself before but have enjoyed the fruits of others' labours many times and am getting very curious... honey wine sounds too good not to have a go - but I have no idea what a bubbler or a grommet is - any advice for a total newb?
Thanks in advance :APax Et Bonum0 -
annie I believe that there is a delay between activity and the time it reaches the earth, I don`t know what it is. Will do some research as well
Yes there is a delay up to 2 years apparently according to some of the weather forms I'm on.
I think you'd like them:
