Halifax Reward ISA

Hi, I have just opened a new Reward ISA with Halifax and transferred my exisiting ISA from Santander. I'm now trying to pay in my allowance for this year.

How do you transfer money into Halifax ISAs? I tried sending the money from Natwest to my ISA but around 5 minutes later the money was returned to my Natwest account. Is there a special way of doing this?

Thanks

You get online access to halifax - probably need a halifax current account.
Set up a one-off payment to the halifax current account from natwest.
Move money from halifax curernt to isa.

Did you complete an ISA Transfer form from the Halifax to have your previous years ISA from Santander transferred accross?

When Halifax receive transfers they seem to initially assume that it's this years money and if it's more than this years allowance they won't allow further payments in. If you can log in to Halifax Online you should see how much of this years allowance remains. If it shows your allowance is used up; you can either wait for it to resolve itself, or contact Halifax and get it sorted. I only had to wait a few days for the situation to resolve itself. Others have had problems.

Thanks for the replies. The money is in from Santander, so the transfer process is complete. I'm now trying to move my allowance for this year into my new ISA from Natwest. Funny thing is I just checked my Halifax ISA and the allowance for this year shows this:

    "Remaining Allowance: £16,970.46"

When did HMRC increase the ISA limit to that? :p

I'll give it a few days and hopefully it'll sort itself out.

    Thanks
