OMG what lovely people exist on this forum. If you have nothing constructive to say don't say anything.

OP - I too would be hacked off. I used to work with somebody who claimed as a single parent whilst her OH had no fixed abode but lived in her house, working cash in hand. So they had loads of money. I used to get so annoyed at this. I knew her OH's date of birth, where he worked, times he left, the children's dates of birth etc so filled in the online form re benefit fraud but nothing was done.

You may say I was jealous but what of? Committing fraud and defrauding the system? I think not.

Well you could say that you may of been jealous of them getting a free, if not risky, way of getting money...? I feel that it would be have to be that reason to grass someone up in this situation unless you wanted to revenge them for some other more heinous yet unprovable crime, such as wife-beating.

You have to question why anyone would say you are wrong for trying to prevent crime!

you could question the morality of reporting crime if you don't agree something should be illegal. Drug prohibition, for example, is causing more problems than the drugs themselves, in my opinion, therefore I wouldn't grass someone for selling drugs, unless that was a way to stop them committing other crime, in this case wife-beating, and being an all round piece of sh*t!

I wouldn't consider the benefit fraud too bad either, ok it comes from all our pockets, but I'm more concerned with banks, council's and governments, rather than people abusing an abusive system that's left us with nearly no industry or community.

There are deaths every day from domestic violence. THAT is the part of this story everyone should be more worried about...... I find it disgusting and shocking that people would even hesitate to report ANY sort of crime.

Thanks you're right, people really should be more concerned with the wife beating bit. it is the only reason I've got it in for this fool.

BUT, you must have great faith in our government and law to find it disgusting that people would hesitate to report ANY crime. Compared to the wars and theft that is carried out under our name by the governments and banks, what most people get up to is really forgivable.

I'm jolly pleased that I live in nice places.

i bet, but in most cities aren't even the nice areas close to council estates and stuff? I too live in a nice area, nicest i've ever lived in, yet someone got shot recently, and someone stabbed!!

I know most people will be glad recent housing benefit reforms will force many poor families out to poorer towns and cities, but is that really a good thing in the long term?

Won't it mean towns that are already struggling become even more stretched. If they get a load of new people coming in, who will mainly be on benefits, will they get money from the government to pay for the extra doctors, nurses, firemen and police etc?

They can't do much without info, there are millions of HB claims
I'm kind of !!!!ed off I'm even able to think of grassing him up and why haven't his details been checked already by the authorities. From what I've read on other threads they only usually respond if someone reports something dodgy, and then like someone else pointed out, if this guys money is illegal its probably stashed safely and not able to come up on their search and more a police matter.

What exactly would be morally wrong about reporting someone stealing from tax payers like me and you?

everyone's stealing from us! lol. isn't it the modern way? isn't he following examples of kings, governments, churches and banks?

Mind your own business, you will live longer.

yeah but say he beats one day and she dies, and we've done nothing, or i stopped my neighbour grassing him up, yeah we'd live long but every day we'd feel like dying.

thanks, i think you've just answered my own question! :T:T:T
