Should I fix at these prices........

Unfortunately E.on aren't offering the good prices that EDF are (am I right that you were saying you wouldn't want to go to EDF because of the severe problems you've had with Direct Debits but you would nevertheless want to go with the longer term switch). I do hear what you say though about poor customer service and will reflect on this.
Wouldn't say they're severe problems... The money is still in my bank account, my bank says they haven't even set up the direct debit yet and they should have taken at least 1 payment by now. They are still within their 10 working days to respond to the email I sent them, so maybe they will sort it out.
Maybe by Sep 2012, E.On will have an offer I just can't refuse!:)I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. You say you can live with their customer service - I'm still trying to get my direct debits with them sorted out, as they haven't taken any yet! Had I been staying with E.On, who I was with before, and EDF's rates were being offered, I would probably have gone for the longer term fix, because they have always given me good customer service.
now for me, I couldn't live the EDF's customer service, as I said previously I tried to call them Wednesday to discuss becoming a customer and after half an hour of waiting for someone to answer the phone, I hung up
So if I have a payment query, or an issue with my direct debit then I will want to be able to get through and from the numerous posts on here, it sounds doubtful0 -
I think I have enough info to make a decision now - thanks for the advice. JennyW - I hope you reach the right solution for you.0

well I would've gone for the longer term fixed for peace of mind but Wednesday has put me off. To some people it wouldn't bother them but Cust Srv is important to me so I'm back to square one.....0 -
In case anybody is interested, I have now had e-mail responses from EDF telling me what the situation is if a customer moves home during the fixed price period. On 27/7/11 I received this message:If you were to move home there would be no termination fees applied to your account, it is only if you attempt to change supplier or tariff before the expiry date indicated at your current address.
I replied to this asking if it would be possible to transfer the fixed price deal to a new address and received this response today (3/8/11):Yes, if you were to move home, we can certainly transfer the Fixed Price 2014 to your new address.
I haven't quite decided whether the likely issues in initially setting up the account (reported in many other threads) will be worth the saving, but will probably take the risk and go for the 2014 fix shortly.0
