Vehicle Control Services / Roxburghe / Grahame White

There is probably a lot of info on this already but I could just do with some clarification.
I parked in a spot where I had parked for years previously without noticing that around 20 new signs had gone up all across the car park. It was a space in a trading estate full of offices of different types. When I returned to the car I had been issued with a Parking Charge Notice by Vehicle Control Services. This had happened to around 150-200 other vehicles at the same time.
I ignored the correspondence that came through and have now received the letter from Roxburghe with the threat of passing to Graham White to begin court proceedings. Am I completely in the right to ignore these scammers or are there all kinds of hoops I am going to end up jumping through?
The original ticket was for £80, the Roxburghe letter is saying £162.00
Any advice will be a big help
Cheers

As Graham White is the other intray on the same desk as Roxburghe its not much of a threat. Most people just ignore them both, do not appeal or acknowledge, and they go away quicker.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Yup usual chain. Wonder when they are going to try some new tactics? Or is it a sign that the old one is still working, and some poor souls are paying up?0

i have ignored all the letters from parking eye as advised, now i have received one of these letters from roxburghe debt collectors stating payment is now £168, it is telling me to ignore anecdotal informaiton on internet and quoting civil procedures rules part 31.
this sounds very scary and debt collectors have a reputation for hounding people. pls help is it realy ok to ignore them and will they keep on after me.0 -
Relax, shows their stupidity the quote "civil procedures rules part 31" doesn't even apply to the small claims track! Just some more irrelevant phrases they pulled from somewhere!0

Just because some people do pay up, it does not mean it is not a scam.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

To follow up esmerobbo's post, here is Part 31 of Civil Procedures http://www.justice.gov.uk/guidance/courts-and-tribunals/courts/procedure-rules/civil/contents/parts/part31.htm Para 31.1(2) is clear enough. Nice of them to quote the section so you can quickly confirm that they bluffing.0

Unfortunately yes, you could write and say you expressly deny any debt to the PPC. Once it is in dispute they should hold action until the debt is proven.
If they do or not is anybodies guess, they are not known for their playing by the rules.
However once you have told them and they persist you could then make a complaint.
If you are still at the Roxburghe stage, the next will be Graham White solicitors. Don't let it worry you, same people different desk!0 -
Debt collectors are not allowed to hound anyone. If they do, then they are in breach of the Consumer Credit Act and should be reported. The irony of all this is that PPC "charges" are not actual debts. No money has been lent and no credit agreement has ever been signed. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0
