change of Broadband Supplier ?

Hi Guys, sorry if this is the wrong place for this thread.

I'm normally on the DFW board:D

Hoping that you can help.....

I am currently on AOL silver and paying £17.99 a month  for my broadband.

been on the moneysupermarket site and seen talktalk. i am with them for my phone and am unable to get the freebie broadband as its not yet available in my area. they are however offering £10 a month.

The reviews seem ok but as the saying goes... if it seems to good to be true, it normally is !!

can anyone offer any help, advise or recommedations

Thanks and again sorry if im on the wrong board.

  • I'm with Aol Silver too and paying £17.99. Got in touch with them tonite tho asking why new subscribers are only paying £14.99 and get free router. If you've been with them 10 months they said they'll reduce the payments and give you router...I've got to wait a couple of weeks so will get on to them again after that.
Dont know much about Talk talk but what i've heard hasnt been that good.
  • Check out their forum on ADSLguide http://bbs.adslguide.org.uk/postlist.php?Cat=&Board=talktalk

Cheap BB is cheap for a reason, you'll suffer from c*ap customer service, awful connection and throttling of what little connection you do get!

You get what you pay for so would suggest paying that little extra for quality service and reliable connection (IDNet and Zen seems to be the best)

Or, £9.99 without a router - I've been on the £9.99 offer for just over a year now.

    Thanks

2mb is only £10 per month for 12 months instead of £17.99.
  • Hey dj...did you only manage to get £9.99 cause you didnt want a router...any tips to get £9.99 and a router?..know it sounds greedy but i really need a router too
  • just been on phone and now getting AOL Gold and a free router (I didnt have one before) for £19.99 per month. Quoting Orange's unlimited broadband offer helped. Didnt really plan on leaving - could do without the hassle but if they didnt give me the reduction or the router I would have.:rotfl:
