Virgin ticket with Singapore airlines so LHR - dxb-sin-mel-sin-LHR may be possible, try https://www.singaporeair.com/ukPosts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

https://www.lastminute.com you are presented with a grid to choose the cheapest flight dates0

If you don't have to stop in Dubai, Qatar airways were quite good for me to Melbourne a couple of years ago. Not sure what their prices are like at moment though.
But I can tell you Melbourne is fantastic place to go I love it there every time I go.0 -
Try Etihad who fly from Manchester to Melbourne via Abu Dhabi. Abu Dhabi is 40 minutes by road to Dubai, and the airline offers a free coach journey there for people who fly them (can be just as close to Dubai beaches as Dubai airport).
I prefer Etihad over Emirates, so definitely include them whilst looking - if using a search engine Abu Dhabi is AUH.0 -
Hi,
The other option you could try is maybe flying into Sydney from the UK - see whether it is cheaper - than catch cheap flight to melbourne - maybe fly into sydney out melbourne ...
Or how about trying from Europe ...

To claify the £3000 i quoted was for 2 people travelling. Getting prices now around £1000 per person, is that as good as a deal as you will get or is it worth waiting for a sale period or anything?
Just wondering should I buy now or hold out for a better price?0 -
Emirates currently have special offers for fares to Australia covering the period you are interested in. Try a specialist like Austravel and see what they can offer.0

Saudia Airlines do Lhr to Kuala Lumpur for £470 return 15 Mar, ret 14 Apr, then Air Asia Kul to Melbourne for £300 return. Can be done quite cheap but then Saudi does not serve alcohol, and as for the reviews, middle to fairing. Air Asia is cheap but a long journey and anything on board you want ....pay.
Best overall deal I saw was Manchester with Qatar for £830ish mid March for a month, one stop Doha, but gets Melbourne late pm or...Emirates and stop in Dxb as you planned from Manchester dep 1330 or 2010, landing in Melb silly am or nice am lol, for £930. Also flies out on big A380 at 1330 which is sex on legs.
I would say Qatar has better overall service (backed up Wikipedia) but Emirates has the beast of a plane and Dubai.
Enjoy though.0 -
They are on the Emirates uk website; I also received notification from Austravel and Emirates as am on their mailing lists.0
