LEBARA sim?

A few weeks ago I, along with others on this and other sites received some Lebara sims with £10 credit on them from Carphone Warehouse, my question is, does the number and or credit disappear after so long if the sim is not activated?

I know that once activated you have 80 days in which to make a chargeable call/text or the credit goes, but speaking to Lebara CS they at first told me the credit will not disappear if the sim is not activated, then they suggested I activate the sim and make a chargeable call within 80 days. I cannot find the answer on their site, so was wondering if anyone on here knows.

I have 5 of these cards and have activated one of them, but not using mobiles a lot I did not want to activate all of them unless I have to, I also have a Virgin sim with a lot of credit on as well.

Thanks.

Many other companies put a "must activate by" date on their SIM card packages. If Lebara don't then it is anybody's guess how long they might last. I think it would be risky to assume they would last more than 1 year without activation.

Usually newly issued sims dont expire until they are activated but best to try and ask lebara themselves.Ive got o2 sim cards that are 2 years old that can still be activated for use.

    That's what I thought,but Lebara CS didn't seem sure.

As I said in my OP,"but speaking to Lebara CS they at first told me the credit will not disappear if the sim is not activated, then they suggested I activate the sim and make a chargeable call within 80 days."

So even they are not sure.

I activated mine straight away. One call to any european number costs 5p - £10 will last an awfully long time on that basis if kept alive every 80 days!

Hello. If you don’t activate your SIM card it will expire within a year. If you activate your SIM card and don’t use it within 80 days, you can call Lebara customer service and request them to put a temporary freeze on your account. Hope this helps.
