Inactive telephone line at new apartment

Hello all,
I will be moving into my new apartment in the next few days and have been looking for broadband deals.
I have contacted a few suppliers it seems that the apartment has a telephone line, however it has never been activated. They have all quoted 12th August as the very earliest activation date, but I really need it sooner than this
Does anybody know whether any suppliers would be able to activate the line sooner or whether there's any way this date could be brought forward?
Thank you very much,
Peter.

As the line has never been connected it will most likely be BT that will connect your line in the street cabinet (Green box) and on into the telephone exchange and into a rack. It again means a BT Openreach engineer to do it regardless of who you pick as a supplier (cable excluded) so highly unlikely to get it done earlier.0

Unless you can get cable, which has nothing to do with Openreach.0

That's a splendid idea, thank you! I will see whether I can get a cable connection in the property

Moved into flat.
Occupants before didn't pay bill.
BT severed connection.
To get connection re-connected will cost 49.99 thro Plus net and maybe more thro other people!
I'm only renting.
Does anyone know a cheaper way of getting it connected?0 -
Virgin Media is £39 though that may require you to take their ADSL which is poorly rated
Believe BT is £0 as long as you take their broadband (rated average) and an 18 month contract
Others are more expensive - the quality ISPs such as Zen, BE and IDNET are circa £85 I believe0
