UK Honeymoon

Has anyone got some suggestions for UK Honeymoons?

My OH isn't keen on flying and so was thinking maybe Scotland or Wales would be nice.

Another option was France and driving, but I'm not sure if I'm keen on that due to the travelling/ driving times etc so UK is the only option really.

Has anyone stayed in the UK, and what did you do to have a nice time? I'm abit disappointed we can't go abroad, but obviously trying to work with whats best for us both so we can both enjoy it.

Theres some lovely holidays to be had in the UK. Personally I love the South west - Somerset, Devon and Cornwall have some beautifully scenic places. If you want somewhere more lively but with character how about York or Edinburgh. What sort of things do you like to do and what time of year will it be?

We are staying in the UK for our honeymoon. We're off to Wales.

We are spending 2 nights in Cardiff, 2 nights at the base of Snowdon and then we have a week in a cottage with hot tub in a remote part of North Wales!

Just over 2 weeks to go and I can't wait! :D

We could not have a honeymoon various reasons. But last weekend we spent a night at the malvern spa it was so relaxing. It was my 2nd time so i knew what to exspect. i booked though quidco-laterooms and got a late deal. Would something like that appeal? Its 4* so lovely. you have a gym downstairs (i never used but hubby did) a hydrotheraphy pool which leads outside very odd to be swimming inside then outside then it raining but very nice. Pool has jets as well. 4 Sauna's different heats and humidities with different showers just outside ice cold bucket drench!, tropical rain, misty something. The food is good although this time we popped along to morrisons as there is one 5 mins walk away!. Last time we ate on site and i had a nice salad with duck. The first time i went i had 2 spa treatments a facial and a manicure staff were lovely and friendly. It was mainly couples and groups of females when we went both times so a nice mix. spa treatments are extra but pool gym and saunas are included in the price of a room. My husband is not a spa type person but he went along to please me and he loved it!

I would get him or her to fly. I know that sounds awful but otherwise the rest of your holidays will be in the uk.

My aunt had 40 years of her husband not wanting to fly. She has missed seeing the world. Then she finally put her foot down at 60 and surprise surprise he had no problems but they have missed so much. Their children never went abroad until they were adults and they missed a family overseas wedding.

You are making a rod for your own back. Sorry to sound mean.

Get counselling or therapy for him now as in will hinder your life.

We just stayed in a lovely quiet B and B near Tenby, West Wales... beautiful place near the coast but quiet with lovely walks , only a small place and the owners were so nice and welcoming, breakfast was excellent with eggs just laid, home made breads as much as you could eat and you could even milk the goats if you wanted they had dogs and horses on the place too... plenty of interesting places round about.. boat trips, castles , pubs and restaurants... it all depends on what you like to do , apart from the obvious on honeymoon lol.... oh and all the rooms were clean, ensuite with a balcony overlooking the fields and sea..

    .

That doesn't follow at all. I haven't flown for over 30 years and have had holidays all over Europe by car, train and coach.

I had my honeymoon in Cornwall. I have been back a few times since, I absolutely love it there. We spent a lot of time on various beautiful beaches, also driving around finding new places. There are plenty of nice restaurants and pubs for the evening.
