Milk Shake Take Away Shop, any thoughts???

  • As per my original post, one of the only two I have seen is in Derby, it`s in a small arcade.

I don`t know the town but I think the arcade is near a Games shop, possibly Game Station (or something like that).

    go hunting........
  • The only suitable shop would cost £17000pa in rent and rates alone, also would need to sign a 15 year lease.

needs a lot more research me thinks....

    a franchise milkshake bar company

"Whether you are ordering a Malteser, Refreshers, or Cadbury Crème Egg flavour shake, no flavourings are ever used, just the product you know and love, straight from the packet"

Why should they add flavourings into their milkshake. There is enough artificial flavouring in the selection already.
    I know nothing

Surely if you started a limited company, and the limited company took on the lease, then if it all went pete tong, they can't hold you responsible for the lease, just the limited company which you would dissolve anyway?

Nice suggestion Paul, Not sure if they would let a new Ltd co take on the lease, maybe worth a look into.

    Thanks

as for the flavours, that seems to be the whole point they put the raw material ie m&m`s, marmite, Lion bar (or whatever) and mix it in with the milk and ice cream to make the shake.

I support this business idea 120%.

Nothing wrong with wanting a cold milkshake in the winter!

Yes, location location location ... shop lease/market stall/a pitch anywhere is hard to come by for a new start but please keep trying!

I noticed a milkeshake place has just opened in Cheltenham... its on the lower high street and looks very downmarket, trying to attract potential McDonalds customers by the looks of it.

It strikes me that 'smoothie' customers and 'milkshake' customers would be very much opposite ends of the spectrum (so to speak)

theres also one in greenwich, I think its an independent.

I had a ferrero rocher milkshake there ( hot) and I still salivate over it to thisx day, even though I had it about a year ago. However, it was £3 and Its just not something I could or would justify spending often

Personally, I dont know how they keep going.

Id never want a milk based drink in the summer as it gives me that claggy feeling in the mouth.

17000 pa is a hell of a lot of shakes to sell .

I would personally, if I were considering it, look to a more mobile catering thing ( lower overheads) then you could move about and also do festivals/ raves/fun days/ football matches etc or park outside the college in the term time. They dont have to be "poor" burger van style - Ive seen some amazing mobile catering set ups at festivals, with patios and everything!
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

Nevermind, I see that it is. It sounds too revolting for words - has anybody actually tried one?
