Help!? Unlocking sony ericcson m600i

Hi,

I need help with unlocking a Sony Ericsson M600i!!!!

We've tried everything from going to a 3 shop (the current network), trying phone unlocking shops, buying a cable and trying to download software but no one seems to have the technology yet to unlock this model! We even bought a 3 PAYG sim and that doesn't work. We bought it on ebay and I think the man we bought it from got it from Sweden and all instructions etc are in Swedish.

If anyone has any info I'd be incredibly grateful.

Basically you have had it .. the M600i cannot be unlocked by anyone apart from the network and 3 (UK) will only deal with the original owner. I would have thought 3 in Sweden are the same.
Only thing you can do with it is sell it back on Ebay for spares or wait and hope that a way of unlocking it becomes available in the near future.

Did the Ebay details say if it was locked or not ?

Yeah when they said it was locked but they were using a 3 sim which worked.

Oh dear I thought that might end up being the case.

Thanks for your advice though. At least we now know where we stand.

With the 3 PAYG sim that you bought does it get to the main screen or tell you that you have inserted the wrong sim?

you can unlock the m600i pda new or older version with the correct hardware, its very easy we have done about 10 this week.

try a few phone shops, not a three shop.

It won't go past the invalid sim page.

We've been to loads of these independent shops who all say that they don't have the software to unlock it.

Can anybody recommend somewhere I can get this done?
