Quick Dialaphone question

Hi

I was just in phones4u and was telling them of a deal with dialaphone and the guy in the shop said I should stay away from dialaphone as all their handsets were refurbs. He said he knew this cause they are owned by phones4u.

Does anybody know if this is true?

Phones4u do own dialaphone but the phones being refurbished is news to me (having used dialaphone a few times myself).

Always thought they were new but if the chap is right, then it is worrying. Would be interesting to find out if he is telling the truth. Gonna email dialaphone :D to find out what they say.

Maybe some of the very cheap deal could be refurbs but not eveything. They don't mention refurbished on their site.

Can you mention which store told you this?

The bloke was probably just trying to get a sale through his division.
  • Thats what I thought, checked the website as well and couldn't find anything.

It in a currys store sprucefield Northern Ireland.

Im just gonna go ahead and get the deal on dialaphone.

Currys are not part of Phones4u.

Or are you saying there is a phones4u store in Currys - never seen one myself.

Anyway I think you have been told a lie.

I'd take anything a mobile sales rep tells you with a large cellar of salt.

Research the deals on the sites and make up your own mind.

Personally I prefer to deal directly with the networks themselves.
Interests: PCs. servers, networks, mobiles and music (esp. trance)

It was announced on July 26th last year, I believe. So nearly a year of unqualified success.

    Allow me to quote
“The ‘Phones 4u at Currys’ trial stores have received overwhelmingly positive feedback from our customers. Our new format stores offer an unbeatable combination of value, choice and service, and the introduction of Phones4u branded areas at our stores represents an exciting new benefit for customers,” said John Browett, Chief Executive for DSGi.

“I’m delighted to be working alongside John and DSGi on such an exciting partnership, which fits perfectly into our strategy to broaden Phones 4u’s customer base and increase our market share as we move further into 2010. We’re continuously looking for innovative ways to bring customers an excellent in store experience and even more great products,” said Tim Whiting, Chief Executive at Phones 4u.

“Currys is the UK’s leading specialist electrical retailer, and as a leading mobile retailer, I know that our combined reputation, expertise and complimentary approach to customer service, choice and value will make this partnership an unrivalled success.”

Makes you proud to be British. :D
