I know Barclays platinum offers a 250 limit for cheque guarantee but are there any other accounts out there which give a 250 guarantee limit with no fee for the account (and preferably some non-negligible interest on credit balances!)? I do use the debit card facility mostly but do prefer having the chq gtee too.
Many thanks in advance.

Natwest have a Servicecard 250 Maestro. Available with a regular current plus account as well I believe. My Dad has one and he hasn't got an advantage Gold account (not that i'm aware of). Not sure if there is any minimum income required for it though?0

Out of interest, How often do you pay for things over £100 with a cheque? (Or does the limit apply to things other than guaranteeing cheques?)Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries0 -
You find that the 'premier' account at most banks will give you that level of guarantee. But they all charge a monthly fee at around £10-15.0

Another potential, and slightly less straightforward, solution would be to apply for a Co-operative Bank Platinum Advantage Credit Card which comes with a cheque guarantee facility of £250. Then, apply for the standard current account that has no monthly fee - unfortunately no interest on balances though. A fee-free solution.0
