Parking ticket

My dad has just got a parking ticket, he was late by 10 mins but the expiry time is incorrect on the penalty notice by 20 mins. For example,
Car parking ticket expiry 3.30
Penalty notice got the expiry ticket as 3.50
Dad got to his car at 3.40
Was wondering if dad can contest the ticket, was wondering if someone has experienced the same issue.
Thanks for responses

Think a fair few details more are due. Was it council owned property, private, how much was the penalty notice, who eas enforcing it, how much was paid to begin with etc.0

Nothing paid at moment
Council issued in city centre
£25 fine if paid with 14 days else £500 -
All other details are correct other than the typo on expiry0

As suggested above post on the parking section, also post on pepipoo as they get a large majority of people off of council issued tickets due flaws with the ticket.0

Whether they've wrote the wrong time or not, you wasn't back in time.
Since its a council fine then just pay the fine and move on.0 -
Thanks all, will check the website you suggest. Also raised question in motoring section of this site.0

To be valid, the ticket HAS to be correct in all details.
It costs nothing to contest it with the issuing authority, if they reject the appeal there is a national appeal system. Over 70% of tickets taken to national appeal are cancelled.0 -
Doesn't sound like the ticket was incorrectly issued in this case. Getting out of it would be merely on a technicality, not because they shouldn't have got the ticket in the first place.
Pay and move on
Why should they be able to use the carpark for longer and cheaper than other paying users without mitigating circumstances.0 -

Just like to add my dad did not realise that he never paid for the full hour, he was coming back from hospital and thought an hour was sufficient and then realising he only paid for 30 minutes. I did tell him he should have checked the ticket before he left it on this windscreen and he does understand its his mistake.
Its an honest mistake and his not someone who does this all the time. He got back to the car a few minutes late and then got stung for £25.
Due to the current economic climate and him losing his job i'm just trying to save him money.
Thanks to the others who have provided some helpful advise.0
