Feeling a little bit disheartened :(

I've been comping now for 7 weeks and love this site, everyone whos posts comps and are lovely people on here!!

I enter most of the magazines weekly, puzzler comps, most of the dailys and been doing the reward your thirst and Times win a kindle hourly every single day, also do all the ITV dailys but no decent wins :(

It is lovely to read all the amazing wins in the IWIWIW forum and some days it really does give me the will to carry on but im starting to feel like its never gonna be my time lol

Sorry i know i'm feeling a bit sorry for myself but i thought you lovely people could give me some inspiring words to make me carry on lol

:D
June wins: - Pair of tickets to Goodwood Motor Show :) - Cushelle Koala :) - Lindam Home Safety Kit :) - Family ticket to the Polocrosse World Cup :p - Revlon Lipstain :) - Rice Krispie Rubix Square :) Crunchy Nut Mug :)

I have been comping on and off for years and never won anything much for ages. This year i have won more due to entering more competitions and not just the big ones- local papers are better to win from (not as big prizes but a lot less people enter). I only enter ones that myself or my family could use but I know a lot of people enter everything and win lots.

Don't get disheartened just widen your search a bit more- the better the prize the more enter. That said this year I won a nights stay at the waldorf from the independent but thats the first national paper comp I have ever won! Keep going, hope you have lots of wins soon :) including a biggie!

Personally ,i think that you have to look on comping as a bit of a pasttime and not expect to win,i would say that if it is getting you down not winning then maybe it isnt really for you.Im sure at some stage you will get a reasonable win but who knows how long that might take ,it is juast the luck of the draw .take care and good luck with everything. Goodness, ive been comping for years, entering thousands of competitions each month, and ive only had a couple big wins! I have lots of small wins each month, and sometimes win some really nice things, but my biggest win ever has been £2K to spend in Harrods, so if you are feeling disheartened after only 7 weeks i think maybe you are setting your sights a bit high!

Im still hoping for the ITV win, or a car or something worth lots, but im still happy with the little wins ive had, this week ive had a bar of chocolate and a book, might not be much, but they are wins and better than nothing.

Wins can be very hard to come by. so don't be too hard on yourself its possible to go months without a win. If you have been entering for just 7 weeks its early days and it sounds as if you are mainly entering the premium magazine , newspaper and ITV comps that attract a lot of entries. Maybe try some comps specific to your local area, or try some facebook or twitter comps.
Comping should be fun, just try and enjoy the entering keep your expectations realistic ,and if its stressing you out or making you unhappy maybe it isn't the hobby for you. Good luck
Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Birmingham Childrens Hospital caring for my tiny and very poorly grandson who was born at 29 weeks. Thanks to them he is getting a little stronger every day.:A:A:A

there are regular postings like yours on here!
I started in October and didn't have a win until mid December.. (oh speaking of december you should see the Advent comps that appear... s***loads of them...):D It'll be worth hanging around just for that!!

If you're only entering the big sites like the ones you've listed your chances are less as there will be more peeps that enter.

Treat comping as a hobby, I do it to keep me busy as I've been out of work for a year!!
I've won some nice things but nothing HUGE yet. I'd love to win a big holiday or a big cash ITV one!!

MSE is one big club and you'll find the replies you'll get to this thread will help and encourage you to keep comping.

May the compng fairy visit us all!!;)

EDIT: after hitting enter button now seen the updates... see we all say the same...
Comping Cat reminded me of something I wanted to add... even the little prizes make you happy. Had some FOxes Ambers last week.. only 2 bisqwits in the box but exciting all the same!!!
Thanks to those that post the comps!!

Keep plodding on and you will win. The people without a win in lots and lots of comping are in the minority and so when you get to a few months in I bet that you'll have had some lovely prizes.
Since starting again after beanie: June 2016: Child development DVDs, Massive Attack tickets. July: Aberystwyth trip, hotmilk nightie. Aug: £10 Hipp Organic vouchers, powerpack. September: Sunglasses. October: £30 poundland vouchers.

wow i think 7 weeks is a little soon to be disheartened, you havent even given it time to win something and have it delivered, i am sure once you get that first win you will feel elated and the wait will have ben worth it. good luck and hope you get a nice win soon

I find that it helps to take a break when you start to get disheartened. I've won quite a lot but I still get disheartened from time to time so I just take a few weeks/months or whatever away from comping.

I seriously admire the hardcore compers who have got the patience to enter thousands and thousands but I find it quite boring sometimes. Some days, I will do a weeks worth of days ending but then I can go another 2 weeks and enter nothing

I now just enter as and when I can be bothered and give it miss when I've got better things to do or I can't be bothered
