Bozita wet cat food

Does anyone know any shops in the UK that stock this?

I can find it online - prices are OK if buying loads and you're able to get free delivery (Zoo+ = £6.99 for 6 and cheaper if you buy more / or Seapets are 99p each).

It would be fine if I knew they'd eat it as I'd buy a load at a time but I really need a couple to try first (very fussy furr-balls) and it seems ridiculous buying a couple @ 99p and then paying £4.95:eek: delivery!

Unfortunately neither of the above stock my dog's food so I can't even "bulk" up the order by getting some of that.

Thanks

    Hi

Not sure about non on-line retailers, but I read the reviews about Bozita on the Pet Forum link that Fire Fox (I think) posted in one of your other threads about cat food ;) having done so, I didn't think that Bozita sounded too great, so I decided to go for Grau instead which Zooplus sells. My cats had their first tin today - don't know what flavour as it is all in German on the tin  - and they loved it!! Every last Morsel eaten, and all 3 seemed equally keen! You can get 6 tins to try and perhaps also get some dog food to make up the £19 to get fee delivery? :):)

Sorry, just realised you said Zooplus DON'T stock your dog food - oops! Apologies :o
  • Thanks for that - I'll have a look at Grau as well! (Getting pretty desperate to find something they'll eat as would love them to eat more wet & less dry - currently the only thing the wee one eats if the Gourmet tins which are hideously expensive - wish they did bigger than 85g!).

I did find another one that looked interesting (think it was Sweedish) but they unfortunately don't deliver in my area.

  • Should've asked - is it a pate?

She'll only eat pate type which is why I thought the Bozita may work!

It's difficult to describe - it is thicker than a normal wet food, though not quite as thick as an actual pate. :D My Harry cat, who is a large, 8kg+ muscular cat, still seems to be full up, 4 hours after his dinner ;) and I only shared one 200g can between 3 cats (though Robbie and Friday are much smaller) as I didn't want to waste any.

There is one food one there described as a thick pate - "Forthglade Fresh Chicken Menu for Cats" which has a reasonably good write up, but which I didn't go for as my cats are not particularly pate fans. But it is sold on Amazon, which might mean lower/no delivery charge? They may be other pate types, too.

Here is the link to the forum I'm on about:

    http://www.petforums.co.uk/cat-health-nutrition/112132-z-wet-food-cats.html

I've also had delivered some dry Orijen. Am still finishing off the Royal Canin, so don't know what they think of it yet - am hoping they like it as I had to go for the 2kg (£21) size as Zooplus had sold out of the trial 400g size at the time of my order . I had a thought, though - with dried food, it wouldn't be hard to put a sample in a jiffy bag, if you want me to send you some when I eventually open it? I know you were looking for a grain-free dried food, and I don't mind sending you some, save you stocking up the local cat shelter :rotfl:
  • mmmm I may order 6 and try them then - I'd also been thinking about the Smilla ones that Zoo+ do as I thought that might be a pate (now confirmed by the website you sent me - great link:T and it gets a not too bad write-up).

If I order 6 of them & the Bozita, I'll probably be pretty close to £29 and sure I can make that up!

The other issue I have with Zoo+ is that you have to sign for the deliveries (and they won't budge from that, even if I say I'll take responsibility for it) - on hols in a fortnight so I guess I'll have to wait until then:(.

PAH, PetPlanet & Seapets are happy to leave it - but they don't sell the Grau or Smilla - sigh, why is everything so complicated!

Re the Orijen, that's a lovely offer and very kind ..... when I come to place my Zoo+ order I'll try to get a sample bag and if not .... I may just take you up on that! :)

I had a "final" clear out of cat stuff at the weekend and have yet another bag to go to the shelter - odds of multi-packs that were tried & not eaten, 1/2 eaten dry bags (Arden Grange recently bought) etc. It's all going and that's it ..... I may well decide to stick with the RC as it does all get eaten but, if so, I'd like to get them to eat more wet .... so ... one more try!

Open day at the shelter next weekend so I'll take up everything then - I really hope the wee cat I fell in love with a couple of weeks ago has found a new home:( ....... mine have been getting on a bit better recently (with the odd spat here & there) but I think it's just too risky to try to introduce another and have a dominance battle start again:sad:.

The tins are a pate, quite a rough one though. They do a pate in the tetrapaks and that is smoother in texture.
My cats much prefer the cans and they also work out cheaper.
I think Zooplus deliver free over £19 not £29, unless it has recently changed.

When my two cats came to me they were being fed Felix wet food and Iams dry. I had to wean them off Felix - they wouldn't touch anything else. I ended up mixing Felix and Bozita together and gradually decreasing the amount of Felix. Dry food - they took to Orijen straight away but they don't get that now on the advice of my vet.

My two won't eat pate only "in jelly" food. Bozita has a lot of jelly so they now wolf it down. I must say they are doing exceptionally well on it too.

But, sorry, I've never seen it in any shops.

ETA - Zooplus always leave my boxes with a neighbour.

Asda do an own brand for about £1 a tetra pack - something like Toplife's chicken dinner (obviously it's only one flavour). I feed mine Feline Fayre from there
    and online from Zooplus
    Smilla
    Aniconda Carny
Bozita (tetra packs but only when on special offer - I hear the tins isn't as good & also read about exploding one that the food had gone off so haven't even considered buying it in tins).
& always feed mine Burns dried (additive free - I know it has alot of rice but it's excellent for cats who previously suffered `dandruff' with other food) but basically whichever is cheapest of the three above wet foods & whilst am waiting for a delivery the Asda stuff.
