    ...and thats raised a whole new thought - re whether a child might have been sent in to steal the missing produce - as they wouldnt necessarily know that they were being "used" by the person concerned to steal vegetables on their behalf. Some children would indeed not be aware that what they were doing was theft if an adult had told them it was okay to do so.

    Children often do take an adults word for it thats something is okay - even when it isnt. One only has to witness the number of children riding bikes on pedestrian-only pavements - with their parent right behind them (ie the parent knows they are doing wrong - but they are teaching the children that its perfectly okay to do this and the child isnt aware they are commiting an offence.....).

    Children are allowed to ride their bikes on pedestrian only pavements up to the age of 12, under most circumstances. It's the adult that's not allowed to.

    Ah..thanks...I didnt know that - because usually when I see children doing so - their parent is riding right along there behind them....:(
