Thank you to those of you that have replied. i should have mentioned that i work as a freelance driver working for various haulage and delivery companies so the oportunities to use a shell card are numerous. I did not phrase my original question very well as what i wanted to know is if the holidays and flights on offer from air miles are good value for a saver or if they offer flights and holidays from the lower end of the market (e.g. ryanair).it appears from the the replies that there are some satisfied savers out there so i think i will continue to collect air miles and see where it gets me0

I convert my Tesco Club Card points to Air Miles then use the Airmiles to book hotels only, not flights.
I look at Ryanair cheap deals. For instance, two years ago we picked up return flights to Malaga for £12 each, hotel was free with the Airmiles, so we had a week on the Costa Del Sol for £24!!.
If you are willing to look at Ryanair destinations (not everyone's cup of tea) and put up with their booking process, rules and regulations (again not everyone's cup of tea), use your airmiles for accomodation, then I think that is best value for your air miles.
I may be wrong, but this is what I do, and I feel it works for me.0 -
i am not sure if i could put up with the ryanair way of doing business but hey ho i should not knock it till i try it . but i must say i find the idea of a £24 holiday very tempting(more money for fun times when i get there).I convert my Tesco Club Card points to Air Miles then use the Airmiles to book hotels only, not flights.

Lets face it who could complain about a £24 sun tan it would cost a lot more for a spray tan and who wants to look like David Dickinson anyway.lol0 -
