Yup, anywhere you can get candle making supplies should sell them, you can get them on ebay for about £3.50 for 50 but the postage can sometimes make them more costly, some of the sellers have 10 packs. I got mine from my local craft shop. There are online shops that sell them such as This One also sells them, make sure you get the ones with a metal disk at the bottom with the wick attached and not the wicking pins. Hope that helps?NSD Challenge 2010:Jul 12/12

Hi Hollydays,
There is an alternative to buying new wicks for your jar candles. (if they are
sented candles)
When the wicks have run out of mine. I prize out the remains of the candle and put pieces of the wax in an oil burner, and use as a wax tart. Just pop
a tea-light in and light. The wax will melt and you seem to get a better "scent throw".
Just a thought.0 -
ah thanks-will try that.0

Does anyone know what I did wrong? I went to a craft shop and bought the wicks & discs etc. Melted together the remains of several scented candles and made new ones - but they never burned right somehow, and smoked alot!
Much like my OH which is why I had candles burning in the first place! LOL0 -

think maybe you had "bits" in the wax, like burnt bits,ie black bits.0 -
I have a lot of candles left over from when we were married, but some have melted unevenly, bits have broke from the bases and they don't stand up so well. Can I melt them down to produce a new, improved version, and if so how do I go about it? Can I reuse the wick or need a new one? They are 'church candle' style.
Thank you.0 -
You can get lots of candlemaking equipment on ebay, and it seems reasonable in price. There is an ebay store called Endless Green with lots of information on 'how to'.

I'm really keen to make my own candles, and I can find loads of websites showing how to do it, but it seems a bit scary - does anyone here make their own candles that could offer any advice? Thanks.0
