Yes you can buy allsorts of stuff from craft shops and you just need a pan for melting wax. Its good fun but not necessarily cheap. Many thanks to everyone who posts competitions and works so hard to provide all the answers!

I am going to try and make teacup candles am hunting for pretty little teacups in charity shops and will use the six million tealights i have hoarded over the years melted down with a drop of fragranced oil for xmas pressies this year xI don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.0

Ooooh, I don't know, any tbh. I love having candles lit at night and I saw someone decorating a plain candle with flower petals. I want to try and make some for xmas pressies.
I looked on here for any threads but couldn't find any hence my post. Do you mean just sites on the internet?
I did want it to be cheap though.

i have been hunting here for a thread on this too - i made a teacup candle this morning only had basic stuff - used a pot and jamjar to melt the wax in, had a cup and saucer that i had herbs in previously ( bought set of two homebargains for £2.49 pink floral) and had bought the wicks and keepers looked great until it set and then it "dipped" in the middle - any suggestions why this happened? then i made another two in tin plant pots and they are a bit bubbly on the top - are you supposed to let the wax cool slightly before pouring or am i pouring it too quick (dont want to waste more wax) any help really appreciated - will see if cant post picsskintbint x

I would imagine that if you were able to make them they may smell a bit horrid once burning.0

Reminds me of QI. Stephen fry asks the question, what's the worst thing you've ever eaten, Alan pipes up, "ear wax" :rotfl:
The ear wax candle didn't do much just flashed and fizzled a little. It's probably on youtube.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0
