Whats Costco like?

Thanks, I thought myself that Makro is going downhill slightly, some of the stuff there is more expensive than the shops in town, there seems to be getting less of a range on fresh foods as well.0

If you are eligible to get a costco membership, go to the customer service desk & ask for a "viewing card" this allows you have a look around but not buy anything. If you think it is worth the fee (£25 + v.a.t.) then go & get a card (so long as you have the right documents etc). I think it compliments Makro but Glasgowe has both within 5 miles of each other so I always visit both.Every day above ground is a good day.0

Be careful not to get carried away at Costco, I always go with a list. Their own Lakeland washing powder is fantastic, huge drum for £6.99. It has lasted me 3 months (family of 4, washing machine on every day). Also, gallon of Tresemme shampoo for £4.99! Yes, a gallon. Toiletries, fruit juice, meat are fairly standard on my list of bargains.0

Yes there Lakeland own brand can be very good. I paticullary like their anti=bacteria kitchen wipes0

I'm lucky that Costco is over the road from work, so it's not out of my way to pop in. I haven't bought any fresh stuff in there yet, but get all my toilet roll, washing powder etc in there. It's also good for birthday presents for various family members.0

Hi All,
Just wanted to know if any of use you COSTCO for purchases and if so how money saving they really are.
They charge about £20-£30 for membership annually and while not a bad price for lifetime membership I think its a bit steep for an annual charge.
Any comments/advice on joining?
Thanks,

I'd love to be able to shop from either this or Makro unfortunately I can't seem to find any details about whether we are eligible for a cardOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

AFAIK, you have to be a trader to gaion entry to Makro, I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong.
As for Costco, we don't have them in NI so I can't comment.0 -

You dont have to be trade for COSTCO, they have set hours for trade and the public. Trade customers get longer hours.WW Start Weight 18/04/12 = 19st 11lbsWeight today = 17st 6.5lbsLoss to date 32.5lbs!!!0
