Lots of companies do credit checks on employees now, especially if they have any links to the FSA. New employees with our company now need a credit check on employment. Its a shame if someone has been a bit useless or carelss when younger, and it affects their job prospectsIt's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your windowEvery worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0

Thanks guys - i am going to email him over the weekend to explain my siuation - it sucks as i'm six months in and good credit wasn't a pre-requisite when i joined (or i wouldn't have bothered!) The form says its too check i've no ccjs (which to my knowledge i don't have) and as i just do admin it might be okay - shame it's not my employer that needs these checks it's one of our customers - and they've not done it to any of the old staff either! I had no choice really as they will stop sending work if we don't comply so either way i'm stuffed...
trying not to think about it too much.

HELP! Last night I managed to tip a whole freshly made cafetiere of coffee all over the lounge carpet. I did all the right things, swept up the grounds, blotted up as much surplus coffee as possible, (used a whole roll of Plenty and an old towel) and have spent hours frantically scrubbing with 1001. This is obviously going to be a loooooong job, the big brown stain has only slightly faded. Does anyone out there have any miracle tips?
Apart from ruining a perfectly good carpet I've weeded a bit of the front garden, only stopped for half an hour to chat to friends who were passing, made coffee for other friends who called in (instant!)(instant coffee, old friends) and spent about an hour looking for a mislaid recipe. Found recipe and made fruit cake for DS2 who is coming to our caravan on holiday tomorrow. So not a very productive day so far.I believe that friends are quiet angels
