My boy hasn't come back

  • Awful though it is check the local cleansing department in case he has been picked up.
Also local dog and cat homes and don't take their word go and check for yourself. Also Cats Protection and RSPCA.
Our boy went missing for 7 weeks once, wandered too far and got lost!

OP I noticed that you said your cat had a magnetic cat flap tag on his collar. Assuming it's possible, it may be worth leaving the cat flap in the unlocked position, just in case your cat has lost his collar somehow and can't get back in.

    Hope he turns up soon...

It is always unlocked, but it still has to be opened by the magnet.

Have you done the vacuum thing yet? if you vac the whole house and empty it on the garden it will smell of home and might just remind him where he lives. I had a cat who loved to go off, fortunately he always found his way home then often slept for hours (he was neutered so he hadn't been chasing the ladies)
Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)

I last saw him July 5th. I've done the whole posters/flyers/RSPCA/local vets/Battersea Dogs and Cats/Cats Protection/National Pet Register/Cats Protection thing and no luck. People do call me and say they saw my cat somewhere but when I go there, no sign of him or maybe I see a similar cat. These sightings are pointless as it's like a needle in a haystack to go somewhere to find a cat outside - they could be anywhere! Someone called yesterday to say they had my cat. I rushed over and when I walked in he took another look at my flyer and said "oh I guess it's not your car". If only he'd done that before he called me :(

Since this has happened to me I realize how many cats go missing. I wish there was a better system to deal with this problem and that local councils did more. Camden does nothing about stray/lost cats.

Just thought I would update you all.

Was just about to go out and do some more leafletting last night and the phone went, hubby answered and I could see that it was good news. He had wandered to a house about a mile away  ! The lady was lovely (she's got 2 cats of her own), she took him to the emergency vets which is just down the road from us and they scanned him.

He is definitely thinner and was starving the poor thing, he went straight for my other cat's bowl and then had a big drink of water.

I have just given him his breakfast and he's gone straight for his favourite bean bag and is now having a nice nap.

Last night he was hovering by the cat flap to go out, not a chance mate!

Ju1i3 - such a worry for you, but I hope it also has a happy ending soon.
