But the question is, "was this an insurance policy, or a service agreement?" If it was an insurance policy, any complaints need to directed, first of all, to the policy issuer and then to the Financial Ombudsman Service. If it is a service agreement, then one should follow the provider's own complaints procedure and if there is no satisfactory outcome, Trading Standards might be the next step.The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
Hi, can someone share their knowledge about a service agreement I have with PC World....
We bought a desktop PC in 2006 and have paid a monthly fee for a serive agreement. The document I have clearly states what isn't included (plugs, wires etc, cosmetic damage, theft, being unable to use the product) and it also staes we 'must take all reasonable precautions' tom protect from damage, such as anti-virus software.
I have today been told that as my computer has a virus, and this is a software problem, I am not covered. Are PC World allowed to change the wording of my service agreement without telling me/sending me an updated agreement that states 'software problems' are not covered by the agreement?

no policy covers software. As far as i am aware the T's&C's will say so. ( i havn't seen them but its pretty standard). what AV where you running?0

It very much depends on the exact wording on the agreement and the full exclusions.
