Should I pass up this opportunity?

I thought you weren't allowed to work part time if you studied at Oxford? Or is that Cambridge?
The thing to consider before you turn this opportunity down is what options will be open to you in a few months time when you want to start working- you have missed the application dates for most graduate schemes already and things are very tough out there for anyone who has recently graduated.0 -
I have now been selected/headhunted as a possible candidate
Many thanks in advance.
Go for the interview. If you are offered the post then you have the interview experience and a choice to make. If you are not offered you might realise how tough it is out there.
OP, if you are selected for interview it might be wise to look over your posts again. You do come across as quite immature and rude. There are many people on this board who give very wise advice and help many people. You have demonstrated such a lack of respect that I'd suggest working on your people and communication skills.0 -
I agree with those suggesting that you go to the interview and if offered, take the job. It is always much easier to get a job when you are already employed.
My husband was unemployed for over a year after graduating and had around 300 rejections. A friend, who was in the year below us, delighted in telling me that companies would look at her year group over my husband's because it had been more than a year since he had graduated.
He ended up doing a City and Guilds in the subject which he had his degree in. The job centre encouraged him to do this. When he had his next interview they were so impressed that he had taken this backward step in order to keep his skills up to date that they offered him his first job.
If you don't even go to the interview you may come to regret it if you struggle to get your first job further down the line.0 -
Oxford Poly, you can work part time there and get a degree. Most people who go to Oxford Brookes (Poly) when asked say they're 'at Oxford'.
To address the question, why take the trouble to ask a question on a public forum and throw a hissy fit when you don't get the answer you wanted?0
