:oPlease please help
I have my broadband throught sky sagem router, my pc is not wireless enabled so have been using a netgear adaptor. About 5 weeks ago my router gave up the ghost and eventually after 17 days sky replaced it. Since the new model sagem router was delivered I can not receive a wireless signal first i'm told by adaptor must be faulty so I bought another, this still didnt work, so bouight another then told that this musn't be compatible with my router so bought yet another from Belkin still not working Sky have basically said my computer is now at fault as I can connect (after 45 mins trial & error calls with Sky)with a friends laptop. Cant believe everything was fine until this new router arrived!!!! please can anyone help?

If you can connect with a friends laptop, Sky are right and the problem is with your computer or your wifi channel being on the same as someone close by and causing a conflict - USB wifi adapters don't have as good reception as a laptop or internal wifi adapter so are more prone to suffering from interference.0

As Hammyman says, if changing the wireless channel doesn't sort it, use an internal PCI wif-fi card, much neater and better, only a 10 minute job to fit it.
But, if your PC is within ethernet cable distance of your router, then using wireless is pointless anyway. No free lunch, and no free laptop
