Hi We are going to north yorkshire in the summer holidays, we've found a site about 15-20 mins from Scarborough, I think its £14 a night for a family of 4 -we've not been yet but its got good reviews: http://www.banktopcamping.co.uk/index.php or we also considered this site in south wales which was £12 a night, just too far for us to travel: http://www.windmillhillcaravanpark.co.uk/, both of these are in the summer holidays.
HTH x

It's years since i've been camping but in the past we've often just stopped at some random farm that had a 'camping' sign at the top of the field. You should find all the basics somewhere like that.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

We stayed here back in June: http://www.uppercarrcaravanpark.co.uk/
Paid £10 for two nights for me and the OH. The site is beautifully maintained, has a very clean toilet and shower block, children's play area and also has a really reasonably priced cafe on site that serves hot meals (we paid £4.95 for a massive lasagne with salad)
That price included electric hookup too if we had wanted it
Another one we enjoyed going to in South Wales:

Again has very clean toilet and shower block and the owners were lovely0 -
