If anything it is stating that the company can not be doing too much business if they can afford to keep the skip filled and not available to the next customer. it could also be that the company is behind in its payments to the local landfill etc.

I would be tempted to put a big sign up against the skip advising people NOT to use the company.

I very much doubt they have thousand of skips but it is common to leave them longer than required. Firstly you should only pay when they collect, if you have already paid then there is never a rush for them to come and collect. You said you have used them before and they have been good, thats because you wanted more.

Order another and they will be straight round, when driver comes tell him you don't need it, he may take the other away whiles hes there.

Like the idea of a sign, you could even get a friend to ring and say they have just seen a sign as they were driving by....

I would leave it a week and on Friday ring up and say "You forgot to collect it all this week! What day can we arrange for next week? Wednesday you say? Oh I need it earlier than that, can we do Tuesday? Lovely, thanks so much skip company- what time will that be collected it at? Yes I know it's difficult to know exactly but roughly? Morning or afternoon perhaps? The morning? Smashing, thanks very much."

"Hi Skip Company, it's the 1pm and my skip's not been collected! Yes I know these things are difficult, but you can pick it up at say 4pm surely? Thanks!"

4.30pm - "Hi Skip Company, I don't see you! You are coming right? Oh no - well let's reschedule. No I've already waited for almost 3 weeks now, I really don't want to fall out - sure we've had lots of dealings and moneys passed between us, let's not get cross now but I really can't wait till Friday, can't we do tomorrow? Super, what time?.."

And so on, making sure you get a response you need that you can ring them up more than once a day, and get your tone a little crosser as days goes on. If at the end of next week you're still not sorted, I would go down in person and say "listen lads, we've sorted out lots of skips together, let's just sort out this last one and we're both happy."
  • I have been trying to get the skip collected but it seems this company does not have any service value to its customers. I have made several phone calls and everyday it is the same story-" we will collect as soon as we can". Its been going on for the last two weeks. They have been dropping skips when we needed but now finally when needs to be collected they just ignore! How on earth this can be allowed to go on? Its so annoying, its blocking the driveway and its so frustrating! I have threatened them to complain to council but they do not bother at all, whats the loophole for them to run a business like this? Anybody knows what to do with this?
    Thanks..
