A verbal offer is one thing.
Exchanging contracts is something else.
If you "sell" on day one you must wonder "Could I have asked more and got it?"
Seasonal greetings and have a nice year.
I agree with what you're saying. But I was given the asking price and Im happy with that. The guy wants to move quickly. His surveyor came round yesterday and from his mortgage lender they are happy with the price of the property and it hasnt shown up any problems. I'd seen a property that I liked 3 weeks before Xmas and put a lower offer in and the couple were happy to accept. Spoke to them this week all is going well. Only 3 of us in the chain so Im hoping all will go well. But I'll keep you posted. PF0 -

We all wonder that don't we? I saw that an identical house to ours was agreed for a grand more at the same time - and it was advertised as requiring modernisation. We were in a hurry to sell and it was a means to an end - if you get enough to be able to afford the next place and you get what you think is a good price then that's all that matters.
I've read a couple of articles lately one saying 2007 is going to be a booster year for house prices and another full of doom and gloom stating there is going to be a property crash. I really think it is all down to luck at the end of the day and keeping on top of solicitors and making sure either side dont allow their solicitors to keep dragging things out. Suppose you have to chalk it up to experience really. Only time will tell. PF0 -

we only had a chain of 3 - purchasing from our in-laws and a FTB - couldn't be any easier (or so we thought). Offer came after 10 days. Still took 5 long months to complete
Good luck and keep those fingers crossed and hope your buyer doesn't change his mind.0
