Cashback Claim - Incorrectly spelt Surname
I have just taken out an 18 month Orange contract through The Link website.
It is a cashback deal via the usual sending in of paperwork on time, blah, blah, blah.
I have just recieved my 1st Orange bill, and there is one letter missing in my surname. I have rang up and corrected this, but Orange cannot send out a new bill with the correct spelling. they can only send out an identical duplicate of what I already have. My future bills will have my name spelt correctly.
When I send in my 1st and 6th month bills to The Link they will have 2 differently spelt surnames, is this going to cause a problem?
The error is either with The Links, when they send the order to Orange.
Or with Orange when they input the order.
What should I do? will it be OK, (the guy at Orange said it should be OK and to tell The Link to call them..errr ye right!) or should I chase it up with The Link, or insist Orange send another bill somehow? or get a letter sent from or to someone?
Can anyone please chip in with some advice.
Thanks fellow MSE's

i think on your orange bill, it should have your mobile number on it, i think as long as it is the same number, it shouldnt matter. (you can also attach the 2nd month bill along with 1st and 6th and tell them about the amendment)
hope this helps... not sure if i am right though!0 -

If you are worried about it then scan your bill, and change it then print it off.
Remeber to use Paint it is the best - I used it to get my N70 repaired; changed IMEI on receipt as proof of purchase! Cos CPW were being morons!
Also remeber simply select and copy letters from else where on the page, for example if your name is 'smith' and they spelt it 'smoth' then select and copy the letter 'i' from the word bill (must be somewhere on the page!) making sure the font size is the same. And simlply correct your name.
Simple and takes 2 mins.0 -

Thanks cuttlefish,
Spot on!
I spoke to the Link and they advised me to do exactly what you said to do.

I'll be more confident with this approach once I have completed your course on document alteration (probably better known as fraud)!!
Thanks for the tip, but I wouldn't even know where to start with this approach.I think my monitor's running out of ink....0
