Lots of good advice for the OP but I guess she needs someone to hold her hand (metaphorically) and show her what to do in a simple, easy-to-understand manner.
If she could post an SOA on the DFW forum I'm sure her hand would be held.

Hi Lisa,
first of all, please don't let this make you ill, i have been where you are and to some extent i still am. but as my Gran said "they can't take your life..." so here is my advice for you...
go to your nearest consumer credit counselling offices they are free and impartial, they will look at your budget and converse with your creditors arrange payment reductions that you can afford and get everything back under control! you need to do a budget i know this is very scary when you first do this - write down how much you owe each creditor and look at making them a payment offer - mine get £1 per month on £22,000 of personal debt!!! it is all i can afford i send them monthly account statements of my accounts when i can i pay more. all interest charges etc have ceased. i am now in the process of reclaiming bank charges which should reduce the above debt by around £5,000. I would urge you to look at your statements to see if you can do the same.
i know it is not easy and you need to stand up and climb the up hill struggle, no more credit for a while, cut up all credit cards etc, get a basic account and above everything remember you are not alone and you will come through this!
very best of luck.0 -

thanks for all of your replies. Today i went to see our financial advisor (we use him a lot for insurances and when we set up our mortgage)
He has told us that becuase we have kept up to date with all out mortgage payments and secured loan payments for the last 12 months he cannot see any reason why we cannot borrow more ontop of our secured loan just to help us out at the moment. He has told us that it will take 3 weeks for it all to complete so in the meantime I have contacted talk talk who have sold my debt onto credit souloutions and credit souloutions have said they will give me until the 31st january to pay the debt or I will have baliffs visit. I have told my childminder that her wages are going to be late (she is really unhappy about this but there is not much else I can do)
I have also spoke to my husband with regards to all of this and he has told me that he has no spare money at all as he has not been paid this month due to problems in the buisness (he works for his father)
I have decided that I am going to go to the second hand phone shop on thursday and sell my mobile phone to raise some money for the next few weeks. Im not sure how much I will get for it though it is a sony ericsson w710i so hope to get enough for food at least for the next week or so. Also need nappies too!
I also managed to borrow £20 off my dad yesterday for petrol so i should have enough to get me to work tomorrow.
thanks all for your posts I still in a huge mess but can see some sort of light at the end of the tunnel now.0 -
Hi,
I hope that you know this already, but the credit solutions threat about sending the bailiffs around is rubbish. They would have to take you to court first, and then the judge could send the bailiffs around, but unlikely.
Even if the bailiffs come around, don't let them in.Well life is harsh, hug me don't reject me.0 -
A couple of years back I has two men come to my house to collect a car parking ticket and they were baliffs they where about to take my tv away until my neighbour saw them and offered to pay them the money for me. They never took me to court they just turned up.
